I guess that employers simply didn’t get the email from Trump regarding our "Booming economy"?
Trump says that prices are way down on everything and that inflation has been defeated! What great news!

2 dolls instead of 10 dolls. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

Unless you are :
1) The retailer selling the dolls
2) The shop assistant processing the sale
3) The shop assistant who unpacks the delivery and stocks the shelves
4) The truck driver that delivers the dolls to the shop
5) The stores guy that loads the truck at the manufacturer
6) The the factory worker that runs the doll making machinery
7) The factory worker who unloads all the raw materials
8) etc etc

I don't totally disagree with you about 2 dolls vs 10 dolls, but these decisions have widespread consequences that need to be planned for and properly managed, rather than just ignored and left to harm the economy.

A lot of things at play -
1) Technology. Like 2024, 2025 saw a sharp rise in self checkouts. Consumers overwhelmingly prefer them.
2) Continued rise in online shopping
3) Significant labor shortage in retail, even worse in seasonal retail.

4) Trump's Federal job cuts
5) Trump's whiplash tariff policies
6) Trump's termination of Federal grants
7) General Trump administration fiscal policy and reporting uncertainty

Ah, yes, the Conservatives have suddenly joined the anti- Consumerist revolution that will overthrow the corrupt Capitalist system and replace it with Fully Automated Gay Space Communism. When the markets collapse it's time to celebrate, Comrade.
