Have you ever tried decaf?...FinnMacCool said:Harry Potter is one of the greats of the modern age. J.K. Rowling rocks and all you mother ****ers that say she practices witchcraft should die a horrible death. Also all you illiterate bitches that say Harry Potter is for 12 year olds should be thrown into the dungeon and then tortured.
Have you ever tried decaf?...

I have read Stephen King's "It". I don't care for the HP saga. I don't believe in witchcraft so I woudn't say that J.K. practices it. I am just wondering what brought about your outburst. Do you feel strong enough about it to give your life? You know, like in a war sense?
The only thing I read for entertainment are comic books everything else I read is educational or informational I think if you can't learn something new from it it's a waste of time.

I like HP a lot but I dislike all of the hype surrounding it. I think it makes people take it less seriously.
By the way, I've read "It". pretty good book.

HP is an obvious clone of better litterature. The fact that kids are reading HP instead of something with substance is shocking. I'm reading the Trumpet and the Swan to my 2 year old daughter, and she is in love with it. If she ever asks for an Harry Potter book, I'll get her one, but I'l also let her know that she'd be better off reading soemthing else. Overrated. Simply overrated.
And yes, I've read one of them (the first one), cover to cover.
How "serious" can you take a work of fiction? Either you like it or you don't. It isn't a superstition.
If you've read only the first one, then I can understand why you would think it would be overrated. The first two books aren't so great, in my opinion. But the third fourth fifth and sixth books are genius. If you want, you could watch the first and second movies and then skip right ahead and read the rest but don't give up on it. I happened to actually enjoy the first two but its definatly not as interesting as the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th.have no problem with pegans, some of my best friends are pegans.
