Scientist claims Covid might lead to higher cancer rates

From the article...

The new study sparking alarm was carried out by the National Institutes of Health and the University of California San Francisco. It found that Covid may disrupt crucial genes, turning them hyperactive and more vulnerable to cancer-causing mutations.
Worse still, it could interfere with the body’s most powerful defense: tumor-suppressing proteins that act as gatekeepers against rogue cells. With these weakened, the door could be wide open for cancer to take hold years after a Covid infection.

I ****ing smoked for years. That was dumber than shit.

Guess the vaccinations make more sense now
You realize you will still get covid once vaccinated, right??
You just dont get as sick as you usually would if not vaccinated.

Now the question becomes does vaccination protect the body enough so you dont get cancer after contracting covid

The doctor who did the research is legit

Patrick Soon-Shiong (born July 29, 1952) is a South African and American businessman, investor, medical researcher, and transplant surgeon. He is the inventor of the drug Abraxane, which is used for lung, breast, and pancreatic cancer. Soon-Shiong is the founder of NantWorks, a network of healthcare, biotech, and artificial intelligence startups;[2] an adjunct professor of surgery and executive director of the Wireless Health Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles; and a visiting professor at Imperial College London and Dartmouth College.[3][4][5]

Soon-Shiong is the chairman of three nonprofit organizations: the Chan Soon-Shiong Family Foundation, a research-funding foundation that works in health care and education accessibility;[6] the Chan Soon-Shiong Institute for Advanced Health, which aims to change the dissemination of healthcare information;[7] and the Healthcare Transformation Institute, a partnership with the University of Arizona and Arizona State University.[2] He has been a minority owner of the Los Angeles Lakers since 2010, and since June 2018, he has been the owner and executive chairman of the Los Angeles Times.[8]

Soon-Shiong's net worth is US$11.3 billion as of 2025 according to Bloomberg Billionaires Index.[9] He has been called the richest man in Los Angeles and one of the wealthiest doctors in the world.[10]

I guess the whole right-wing "herd immunity" idea wasn't so great after all.

You are less likely to get it after you’re vaccinated, AND if you get it, you’re much less likely to be severely ill.

If you dont understand the above, that might explain why you fall for anything you see on a video.

Since you’re source is crap, I can’t comment on the cancer issue. There is no known association between COVID and cancer, regardless of what one dude says on a Tucker Carlson show.

COVID, like all viruses, can mess you up bad and lead to future health issues. COVID was particularly bad in its initial strains, much worse than many other viruses at the time. All viruses are bad news for future health, and COVID is one of the worst in history in its initial strains. It is a big factor in reducing life expectancy in recent times, even though it is now beginning to rebound.

New CDC data suggests that people born in 2023 are predicted to live to age 78.4, which is nearly an entire year longer than the prediction for babies born in 2022. Life expectancy hasn’t fully rebounded, though. In 2019 – before the pandemic – life expectancy was 78.8 years.

Well well, Covid might cause cancer. Ok, fair enough, AND what are we supposed to do with this info? Not get Covid obviously. How do we avoid getting Covid? Let me guess: don't mask up, don't stay away from crowds, don't get vaccinated.

Now, for the other things that can cause cancer:
Working in coal mines
Smoking
Alcohol
Breathing polluted air
Eating burnt steaks
Asbestos
In fact, there is a more exhaustive list:

There was no research done. He's just saying stuff.

And you fall for it.

The doctor is commenting on a study done by the National Institutes of Health and the University of California San Francisco.

The findings are theirs, not his.

Everything on that list is good for the environment because it eventually kills humans. 😌

As to the OP, I responded to it in another thread.
