That is arguably the most pathetic post I have ever seen. Do you imagine yourself to be superior?Lol...what goal is that? I'll let you dance on my strings, for my amusement, before I straighten out your hysteria.
He means by giving out the addresses and personal information of the staff. And what does transparency mean to you in this context?
Optimist.Wow. They are totally reenacting 1984.
No teacher in their right minds would want to remain a teacher if their worst critics were given access to their discussions amongst each other. And for what purpose? Even if they said something simple, like, "Hey, I like what Trump/Biden did on X"--the next thing you know, they want that teacher 'cancelled' and removed from her job for indoctrinating children with political speech.
This is very ugly.
In those days teachers were treated as professionals. Trusted to decide for themselves what the curriculum would be and how to teach it.We should, meaning pre-1970s
Education should be focused on fostering patriotism, Christian values (in the secular sense, not advocating a particular sect), and a traditional world view.
Imagine? No.That is arguably the most pathetic post I have ever seen. Do you imagine yourself to be superior?
Uhhh yes?Is a school board a government agency?
Yeah but that would not be in the interests of public sector unions so it won’t happenWhy do you guys need to complicate everything? Look at the list of PISA scores and copy what the top ten do.
Oddly enough though American workers are still more productive than most other countries, including Canada. So you can talk about how the education system is failing because of test results, but in terms of creating productive and industrious workers the results speak for themselves. I really don’t care if school children in cultures where cheating is viewed as good (like China) have higher scores. You're not reinventing the wheel. And you're not doing an adequate job. You're failing, in fact, to educate your children
Well if we assume your argument that the schools are failing is true, and they’re run by liberal union members now, then your argument is that we should blame these thingsand if you want to blame teachers unions or liberal policies you're going to continue to fail.
This is really just a platitude and not a statement with much content. You will continue to fail until you decide to try to attract top people to your educational system.
Yeah I don’t think that’s true. The model for American schools was Prussia’s public schools, intended to produce workers sufficiently educated for industrial employment or military service, and is based on strong control of curriculum and efficient increase in knowledge by grade. In those days teachers were treated as professionals. Trusted to decide for themselves what the curriculum would be and how to teach it.
I don’t think that’s true either, but it’s interesting the leftists hate standardized testing, what they really hate is the ability to have data which discredits them.Standardized testing was minimal.
Our local school district stated that they’ve spent over $20K on having attorneys review and staff respond to OPRA requests since the beginning of this school year. That was in January.
And that’s one small preK-6 district.
The same people who file endless OPRA requests will then complain about the school budgets.
Most of it already IS.Imagine how much money they could save if they just posted the information on publicly accessible websites, as they should.
How many schools in the USA actually post the curriculum online?
I keep reading from posters saying most do.........but they fail to present any hard numbers to back up their claims.
It's true.Yeah I don’t think that’s true.
Also true.I don’t think that’s true either,
Most of it already IS.
You’ve given me no reason to believe thatIt's true.
All platitudes. I would call the teachers union if I cared about this nonsenseAlso true.
Perhaps you should look into it before saying you want to go back to it.
All this constant testing and micro managing teachers is a relatively recent thing ( last 40 years anyway, and increasing.
And it is not working.
Let's go back to the way we used to do it.
Treat teachers with respect. Let them teach. Get off of their backs.
That would help with the teacher shortage too.
So you've got nothing? You’ve given me no reason to believe that
All platitudes. I would call the teachers union if I cared about this nonsense
This is one of the things those voucher advocates don't understand about the top private schools. One of the things they sell to their wealthy clients is exclusivity, a social and educational advantage for their children and they won't let that advantage be lost. The right has always despised education. Not just because they're stupid and mean-spirited, but because an education for anyone but the rich goes against their core beliefs.
Probably a lot now. Especially since they’ll be reading all the emailsWonder what percentage of those parents are active in their local PTA meetings?
That is a lie.Whiney Baizuo Progressives don't like when parents take an interest in their children education.
I'm notThat is a lie.
Why lie.
They have been nonstop complaining over parents becoming more involved in their children's education. I think it's fair to conclude from that the Stalinist Baizuos are unhappyWhat you said is not true.
Obviously.
They have been nonstop complaining over parents becoming more involved in their children's education.
