This is sad. There used to be a clam chowder restaurant at the end of the wharf called The Dolphin. They served the absolute best clam chowder and my family would always stop there for lunch when we went to Santa Cruz. It was one of the last places I took my mom out to eat before she passed away last year.

They had to demolish the restaurant last year to fix some damaged pilings from a previous storm in December 2023. Now it's not clear if it will ever be rebuilt.

That is genuinely sad to hear, eman623. At least you got to enjoy it with your Mom one last time before she passed.

Have been to that wharf. I love Santa Cruz, the wharf, the boardwalk, and the craziness of Pacific Ave lol. Sad to see. Unfortunately, something we'll likely have to get used to as storms get more and more intense.

I echo Felis's thoughts. I'm glad you could take your mom there one last time.
