But here's the thing, I think the whole Russian collusion/interference narrative was purposefully blown out of proportion, so the Obama administration could publicly justify covert intelligence on a opposing Presidential campaign. Obama wasn't just looking for evidence of Russian interference or collusion, he was looking for anything that would damage Trumps candidacy. Obama made sure that information would be disseminated to 16 additional intelligence agencies so it could be leaked out to media outlets like WaPo. This included Flynns transcripts and Trumps calls with foreign leaders.

First, Obama's done **** like this before, like when his DOJ charged a Journalist, James Rosen as a criminal co-conspirator under the Espionage act so they could access his E-mails and phone records and the phone records of his parents or when the IRS illegally targeted Conservative Americans. He's was never above abusing the power of his office, so it stands to reason he'd use wiretaps under a false pretense to dig up dirt on Donald Trump

Second, there has never been any evidence whatsoever that Trump colluded with the Russians, even James Clapper recently said they found no evidence of collusion, but the leaked calls between Trump and world leaders show the wiretapping extended beyond the election. By selling the conspiracy theory of Russian interference , the Obama administration could publicly justify the eavesdropping of a opposing Presidential campaign. People bought it too. There are still angry Liberals demanding a independent investigation into Russian/Trump collusion.
