Syrian officials supplied the evidence, which Mr Lavrov has not yet seen.
Why is evidence in quotation marks? Are we already judging it before we even see it, hmm?
From your link.
The UN report did not apportion blame for the attack,
which sparked diplomacy that culminated in a deal for Syria to hand over its chemical arsenal by mid-2014.
It's a good thing that the US didn't strike. I know you disagree.
MOSCOW: Russia will show the UN security council evidence it has received from Syria's government pointing to the use of chemical weapons by rebels in the Damascus suburbs, Russian news agencies quoted foreign minister Sergei Lavrov as saying on Wednesday.
Lavrov, who has said a report by UN investigators did not dispel Russia's suspicions that rebels were behind an August 21 poison gas attack, spoke after one of his deputies was given unspecified evidence by the government while visiting Syria.
It is rumoured to be video footage

That your a hawk, as admitted.

The Times of India put it in quotations so who can know what that means.
Well duh. Its obvious that America is ALWAYS right and other countries are always wrong.
As admitted? Look at my avatar (and title) and see my signature.
The most unbelievable aspect of the event is that rebels could infiltrate multiple locations, set up rockets and fire without detection or resistance in Assad controlled Damascus. I guess his "evidence" will concern catching rebels at those locations.
Right, a pro war hawk, got it. Have seen that in ALL your posts.
It's because no one, including the Russians, has examined the "evidence" being supplied by Assad.
YOU wouldn't accept any evidence that would not legitimise a US attack on Syria, got it.
Saduya!
I agree. We want a list of locations and Russian security (perhaps international as well) before Assad falls. That's much better than chasing down keys to chems after the crap hits the fan. I'm a hawk, and I'm wanting to wait a week to get that info. I expect Assad is negotiating for asylum in an African or Mideast country. He bought time to do that by allowing international control of the locations. If Assad leaves Syria, a transitional democratic government could be assembled with the help of the UN without direct Western military intervention.
I wish that we could believe Assad will leave, but I very much doubt it...
Why should Assad leave? It's the rebels murdering Christians and beheading children. Since the rebels are increasingly foreigners from out of the country, shouldn't the rebels leave?

What about hired mercenaries posing as rebels or CIA posing as rebels? In theory Is that even a longshot possibility in your book? Or would you only believe it if an American mouthpiece said, "It was mercs."
