Might be tariffs involved. Last time Trump put tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminium Harley shifted a lot of it's manufacturing to it's facility in Thailand to get around it. Now there might be tariffs on bikes and parts coming into the US.

Sturdy would be the fairest description of a bike that's based on a pre-WW2 BMW unit. From the original appalling copy there have been subsequent incremental changes in quality and production until now they are well into the mediocre range. They do offer ease of repair, two wheel drive, and are quite robust for offroad use.
