Romney blasts Trump's Stone commutation: 'Historic corruption' | TheHill


(Utah) Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) on Saturday sharply condemned President Trump's commutation for longtime ally and political confidant Roger Stone, labeling it "historic corruption."

"Unprecedented, historic corruption: an American president commutes the sentence of a person convicted by a jury of lying to shield that very president," Romney tweeted Saturday morning.

Giving free passes to your buddies who did crimes for you is corruption.
 
He is both encouraging people to lie to protect him (and to intimidate witnesses for the same end), and he is trolling the left by waving corruption in their face. Like a bunch of pettily sadistic fourth-graders, his base will cheer.

The ugliness is the point.
 
What this tells me is, he will FIX any issue he has. Whether reelection, prosecution, whatever, the chain of Republicans will let the caught ones go. Till they are the swamp.

Trump knows he's going to lose.

He doesn't care about appearances anymore.
 
What's the bottom line? It is that the whole "Russia investigation" was based on lies, deceit and threatened witnesses. The whole stinking, corrupted mess and all it's bogus results should be reversed.
Mitt should just join the Democratic party- what an effing loser.
 
Giving him a chance to fight a bull**** case as a free man, is not corruption. Stone's case has similar corrupt practices to Flynn's.
