Rev. Sun Myung Moon and his political activies in America

For those who did not live through the seventies. There was once a widespread cult that took hold on the university campuses of America. It was (and is) called the Unification Church. It's leader Sun Myung Moon is from south Korea and claims to be the second coming of Christ. He also calls himself the emperor of the universe and claims endorsements from several dead presidents.

Back in the seventies young men and women standing in airports, train stations and road sides selling flowers were a common sight. These moonies were recruited from campuses across the country and brainwashed into cutting off all contact with family and working from dawn to dusk selling flowers to fund a lifestyle for rev. Moon that would make emperors jealous. He was famous for having everything he was to come in contact with made from solid gold. his followers were allowed only 4 hours of sleep a night, They slept on the floor in remote houses, were fed a thin diet of rice and transported in closed vans to the place where they would stand all day selling flowers and other things. Followers were also shuffled periodically to different cites to avoid families from finding their children and kidnapping them back.

From the beginning Rev. moon supported republicans. Soon after the American founding of the church Rev. Moon spoke out publicly in support of President Nixon during the Watergate scandal and even held public prayer vigils at the capital for Nixon. Nixon thanked him by inviting him to the White house.

In 1982 he was convicted of tax fraud and served a year and a half in prison. Most people have not heard his name since and assume he is dead or discredited if they think of him at all but nothing could be father from the truth.

Because members of the church are urged to sell everything they own and donate it to the church, Moon has become incredibly wealthy. He owns among other things, The Washington times, United press International, Pyeonghwa Motors the only car manufacturing company in NORTH Korea. he sells computers in Japan, seafood in Alaska, Weapons and ginseng in S. Korea, A horse farm in Texas, and golf courses all over the world. His son, a church official, owns Kahr arms of Blauvelt New York.

His Relationship with the elder President Bush dates back many years, In the mid nineties GHWB accepted millions to go on an international speaking tour on his behalf, he was instrumental in the church's acceptance in Japan. The Bush family have been the guests of Moon many times and seem to have a close personal relationship.

His Ownership of the Washington times is rather troubling. He has sunk an estimated 1.7 to 2 billion dollars to fund a newspaper that has never made money. It's writers are frequent guests on Fox news and have often been caught telling false stories in defense of White house scandals most notably Joseph Curl on the Plame leak. In 2004 the Washington times foundation gave one million dollars to help build the GWB presidential library. His purchase of UPI bought a seat with the Air Force one press corps and ownership of one of the largest stock photo collections in the world..

Perhaps the most puzzling event in recent history happened in 2004 when Moon was crowned emperor of the universe by Rep. Danny K. Davis (D) of Illinios with at least 12 members of congress in attendance. The event happened at the Dirkson senate office building in Washington and no one would have ever known if the story had not surfaced on an internet website. Some of the attending lawmakers claimed they had been duped into attendance but no one moved to expose the holy man crowned king of the universe on government property.

Who is this Man that claims to be the son of god, the incarnation of Jesus, Muhammad, and Bhudda who seems to have the ear of both former President Bushes, the right wing media, and an unknown number of congressmen from both sides of the aisle? I wish I knew.

I had no idea what forum to post this article in. I put lot of work into it and posted it on another board where it died a slow miserable death. That is why I am here, maybe the users here will be interested in the biggest threat to our country you never heard about.

I thought I would add to my post on The unification church's financial and political activities with an examination of what the church believes and the future goals of what has been called "the world most dangerous cult".

Because Sun Myung Moon claims to be second coming of Christ many believe it to be a crazy but still Christian faith, this is not quite accurate.

They believe God to be a dual male/female being. They deny the concept of the trinity. Likening God to more of a force of nature that must be channeled by a human leader, Moon.

Sun Myung Moon believes that instead of heaven and hell there is a vast spirit world where all of the dead still exist together. He believes he has been chosen to channel the spirits of Jesus, Mohammad, Confucius, Bhudda or any other revered figure in whatever population he is targeting. He claims the ability to communicate with the spirit world and claims that all of the dead presidents and kings have endorsed his goal of becoming king of the world. He also puts forth the idea that your ancestors continually pay for your sins and can only be relived of suffering by giving yourself to his church along with all that you own. In the Nineties they convinced thousands of elderly Japanese that their departed spouses were suffering in the afterlife and a large money gift to the church would help the dead.

One of the core principles of the church is that all faiths of the world have it wrong and the only true symbol of faith should be a crown and The only true sacred text should be his book "divine principle". It is a mash-up of of all of the faiths of the world with Sun Myung Moon himself as the earthly incarnation of God as the only allowable object of worship. His stated goal is to replace all of the faiths of the world with his own.

His views on marriage are that the church is a much better match maker than any human alone can be. He is famous for having mass weddings where thousands are married in huge spectacles where he tries to mix couples by race and nationality as much as possible. He envisions a future where race divisions are erased by mixed marriage and shifting the couples away from their countries of birth. After his "Blessing Ceremony" couples must live apart for 3-7 years in celibacy before being allowed to live together, Any children that come from these marriages are considered wards of the church and are separated as soon as possible from parents to undergo intense indoctrination. All of these are tactics to make the church the only support system available to members.

It goes without saying that those who actively oppose the church are demonized as agents of Satan and that churches that refuse his teachings are Satanist churches. Satan is merely the personification of worldly desires and human frailty and is really only an allegory to them rather than a being.

The end goals of the church are clearly stated. Moon is after nothing short of global domination. He makes no bones about it, he is after the bodies, souls and especially the money of every single person on the earth.

This is the man who has spent billions on a media empire that stretches around the world, the one who has bought influence in every country that can be bought, who dreams of a world without borders united under his "benevolent" rule, the one who has funded or contributed money to every conservative organization in this country.

This man wants to conquer us and has greatly influenced politics in our country for decades. The best clue that he is a brilliant manipulator is that he has jerked us around for nearly forty years and few people even know his name.

I am presenting a couple of examples of media manipulation of our electoral process. One has a Moon operative at it's source and worked, The other has a Moon publication as it's source and almost worked.

The first involved Carlton Sherwood, The author of a pro-Moon book on the prosecution and conviction of Moon for tax fraud in 1982. The book was "fact" checked before publication by an aide to Moon and Sherwood made all suggested changes. I think this marks him as an operative or at least a collaborator.

Sherwood is a former aide to Tom Ridge and has worked for various news services most notably for the purposes of this article The Washington Times.

The first example I wish to offer is his 2004 documentary "Stolen honor, The wounds that never heal", a partisan smear job against Kerry in the 2004 presidential campaign. The documentary never aired except for a pay per view audience but the uproar over it's content and the decision to air the "documentary" by Sinclair Broadcast group and the ensuing lawsuits to block it went a long way towards branding Kerry as a traitor to the Military and the country.

Sherwood has also claimed to have won the Pulitzer prize which he did not, kind of ironic when one of his claims is that Kerry lied to win his medals.

Along with the Swiftboaters, with whom he also has links, Sherwood successfully pushed the idea that Kerry is some kind of Traitor, a fallacy that continues to this day and almost certainly cost him the election.

The second example is even more brazen, on Jan. 17 2008 the Moon publication InsightMag.com published a viral e-mail that had originated on Freerepublic.com. It claimed that the Clinton campaign had uncovered the "fact" that Sen. Obama had attended a radical madrassa in Indonesia as a child.
The next day Foxnews and all of the radio hosts had a field day with the fabricated story. Every time the story seemed settled InsightMag.com would publish another story defending their story and stirring the pot further.
The false certainty that Obama is a dangerous Muslim persists to this day.
The move was a master stroke. It nearly took down both democratic candidates with a single blow.

I don't care how you feel about Clinton, Obama, Kerry or anyone This is blatant manipulation of public opinion by a man and an organization that states plainly that they are out to conquer the world.

He agonized over the decision to go public with what he knew about Kerry and when he did, it cost him a career. He's an honorable man who did an honorable thing and paid a high price for it.

I've actually looked into Soros but saw nothing that worries me as much as Moon. Soros manipulates things but has no designs on personal world domination. If you noticed I confined my research to wikipedia or other web sites with information verifiable from another unrelated site. According to Wikipedia his only crime seems to be a little insider trading and using his considerable fortune to support Democrats. The difference is that he lives in America and he never calls America "Satan's harvest" or refers to American women as "descended from whores". nor does he regularly refer to the day that America comes under the protection of "the benevolent family".

As to the swiftboaters, I never said they were Moonies I said that a man connected with the Moonies has links to them. Sherwood and various members of swift boat have appeared in television interviews together. This link covers other links between he and the swift boaters.

I do not approve of the calculated partisan nature of the organization but that is a different thread.

That is how Moon works, he funnels money and support to organizations that do his dirty work for him.

As to not much has happened since the 80s that is because he is not seeking new members in America the way he used to. But his MO still holds true in Asia where he has at least two million members in Japan, and Korea alone.

Since this is not the first time the name George Soros has come up as being more dangerous than Su Myung Moon I thought that a side by side comparison is in order.

Soros was born In Buddapest Hungary in 1930 and was a witness of the Nazi occupation and persecution of the Jews.

Moon was born in Sangsa-Ri what is now north Korea during the Japanese occupation. He showed signs of deep spirituality at an early age


Education:
Soros: wikipedia says nothing of his early education but he was a graduate of the London school of economics where he worked his way through as a porter and waiter.

Moon was educated in traditional confucianism and later studied electrical engineering in Japan, in spite of calling himself a Reverend he never went to a seminary.


Source of wealth:
Soros founded a hedge fund called Soros fund management and co-founded the Quantum fund. He has shown a remarkable ability to short sell funds just before a bubble bursts. He is worth 11 billion dollars.

Moon requires the sacrifice of all worldly possessions to his church from all members. He has used this ill gotten wealth to invest in various businesses around the world. His Net worth is unknown but the lavish lifestyle he and his children lead suggests many billions of dollars.


Philanthropy:
Soros through his Open Society Institute and other activities has given 6 billion to various projects promoting democracy in eastern Europe and ending poverty in Africa.

Moon: Wikipedia has no section on Moon's charitable giving, if any. He has given much money to political causes to promote conservatism, is that charity? you be the judge.

Political activities:

Soros has publicly given $23,000,000 to various democratic 527 groups during the 2004 re-election campaign and supported other groups that raise money for the democratic party. He has been open about his opinions and financial contributions.

Moon's total contributions to conservative causes is unknown as he prefers to hide his activities but the purchase of the Washington times for the sole purpose of promoting conservatism and run at a tremendous loss to the tune of 2 billion dollars alone is enough to beat Soros, Through his various front organizations he has contributed money to many conservative groups and even bailed Jerry Falwell, a man who had once preached against Moon, out of debt.

Criminal activity:
Soros was convicted in France of Insider trading 14 years after the alleged incident. Paid a fine of 2.3 million.

Moon Convicted of Tax fraud and conspiracy served 18 months in prison. He was also a political prisoner in North Korea for 34 months.

On America:

Soros is a resident of America and supports Democratic causes and is critical of republican policies and especially GWB.

Moon has never been a resident of America and he is on record as saying America will fail and be built back as part of God's kingdom on earth, he is also quite critical of American women for their independent ways saying they are descended from whores.

End goals:
Soros: To stay rich, make more money, give some to worthy causes. Capitalism.

Moon: To form a borderless world united under the unification church and become it's absolute ruler. Theocracy.

Soros is trying to make the world a better place, Moon is trying to make the world his.

Fair enough. I never said I don't have a problem with Sum Old Moonie; the day he shuffles off the mortal coil I might just have a beer to celebrate, and I haven't had a beer in ten years. If he managed to disgrace and discredit himself to his deluded followers I would be gratified and amused.

The only good thing I said about anyone named Moon was that his son's company makes good pistols. :mrgreen:

I'm just not of the opinion that Sum Old Moon is a major worry, considered against the list of Really Major Worries that we have right now.

Any republican president you care to name had big corporate contributors. Were they "owned"?

The Washington Times is the most partisan newspaper in America. Read this speech by Moon and tell me if you think it is unbiased the way a newspaper should be or if it is simply a tool to shape public opinion like a propaganda sheet is.
