Republicans are now arguing that teens (15-19yo) are NOT having enough babies which then INJURES their (red) states.

It's a lot of textures - it's weird to me in a lot of different ways.

A lot of it comes from the fact that I've never had any desire to have biological children, and while I understand that that is itself weird, from a socialogical or antropological viewpoint, it's probably pretty fundamental to my perspective.

I consider myself incredibly lucky to be married to a woman who agrees, by the way.

Natalism as a policy objective feels inherently fascist to me - the premise that making more in-group people is a legitimate objective of a state is weird - it's much more of a government interference in society than taxes or corporate regulations ever could be.

There's also this basic idea that it's way to close to making less out-group people, in the larger sense.

If those unpatriotic young ladies refuse to bear children as God intended, MAGA legislators will have to make a huge sacrifice and impregnate the little coquettes themselves. There is nothing they wouldn't do for their God and country.

They seem to have gotten the order of importance reversed.

Government is of the people, at least in democratic theory.

And that's the party, the "side," that accuses pro-choice people of dehumanizing the unborn.

Except they're dehumanizing women and the unborn. Once again just reducing both to numbers.

 
If white women were birthing more white babies and if white men could jump maybe we wouldn't be flirting with Nazism.

Yeah man, it's a pretty ****ed up thing to file a legal argument declaring that fifteen year old girls have an obligation to the state to have children.
 
Come on 15-year-old girls in red states. Get pregnant more!!!!
