"Here 14 people let themselves get shot, not only was no one armed, but words like "cower" and "hid" are the words used here. it dismays me to know end that we teach ourselves to be meek when the wolf comes for the slaughter....
Like the VT tech thing, we have neutered the people and prepared them for the slaughter......"
It was pointed out none of the victims had guns followed by saying that is proof we are trained to be meek and being prepared for the slaughter, so yes, the position is quite clear: be meek or be armed.
Don't accuse others of being dishonest simply because you can't be.
The main problem is trying to imply being meek means being weak. It takes a much stronger person to be meek, but most gun lovers have no idea how to begin to relate. The weakest people are those who rely on guns for resolutions. Be it an armed robber who's too lazy to work for the money or the NRA crowd that lives in a basket case of fear.

Who said carrying a gun, and being willing to use it in defense of innocent life, means you can't be meek?
Being meek isn't about being a victim of any scumbag who wants to take what you have, be it your wallet, your spouse or your life.
Being meek is about humility, kindness, selflessness, not returning insult for insult, not escalating situations though pointless displays of anger.
Packing a gun doesn't mean you can't do all that. In point of fact I'd daresay the average lawful permit holder is probably more polite and "meek" than those who don't carry, in my experience.
In any case SkyCore, I haven't seen any evidence here that you qualify as "meek". You've done too much namecalling and flung too many insults to qualify.
An intresting point I've run across is how many self-labeled "pacifists" run their mouth freely, insult others freely, engage in verbal and emotional abuse of others...while at the same time screaming angrily "I'm against violence!!"
I think, instead, such persons wish to control the level and type of violence they engage in, but "meek" isn't the word for them.

I think i brought up the word, "meek" and by your description, this is not what I meant by meek. What saddens me is seeing these shootings, were relativley lighty armed individuals are able to kill 10 20 people and seemingly not one puts up a fight...
Columbine, VT, and this one, here, you have instances of people "waiting to die" (i put this in quotes in hopes others do not take me out of context again, not you btw)....

We're cool.
There's "meek" in the biblical sense; in modern terms "mild-mannered", kind and helpful, not arrogant or unreasonable or pushy.
And then there's cowering in terror, lacking the courage (or the means) to stop a mass murderer from killing more innocents... that's just being a victim, in my lexicon, and there is no virtue in it.

Well let's see, this is what RH said:
"Here 14 people let themselves get shot, not only was no one armed, but words like "cower" and "hid" are the words used here. it dismays me to know end that we teach ourselves to be meek when the wolf comes for the slaughter...."
Funny how you didn't try to preach the definition of "meek" to him when he clearly put "meek" as the polar opposite of being armed. That was also the part of my post you edited out so it appears your purpose wasn't to pontificate about being "meek" but rather personally focus on another poster.
You say iam "whiney" but then you whine and say I am "emotionally abusive?" Lol
Look, if you or anyone else can't handle your positions being critiqued then don't post them. Also, stop trying to hide behind "personal attacks" as a way of avoiding posts being criticized. Oh I'm sorry dear, was that "emotionally abusive?" Take your Malibu Barbie and go take a bath. Maybe that will be soothing?
Are you going to stop lying about my position or are you going to continue to foolishy behave here?

So the answer is no, you are going to continue to lie and look foolish, taking my position out of context.

Great job!
Lol...that post simply reinforced:

So it appears instead of admitting it was a mistake to place "meek" as the polar opposite of being "armed" it's more appealing to simply accuse others of lying. If you wish to accuse me of lying then so be it. I don't care what you think of me or anyone else because you don't even demonstrate enough self respect to admit an error. But take comfort in your guns. It's all you have to rely upon.
Your posts are absolutely worthless. When you want to up your game to my intellectual standards, without the strawmen and red herrings, get back to me.
Of course we're able to distance ourselves... as there's no relationship between my exercise of the right to arms and what this guy did.No, it's about guys making a personal decision to take a firearm and kill as many innocent people as possible. And somehow, all of you are able to distance that behavior from your own strongly held beliefs that ownership of firearms is not only a privelage, it is a right guaranteed by the Constitution.
Strawman. No one argues this.My point is that if you insist every American has the right to own whatever guns he wants...
Another strawman. The point is that no excuse justifies the shooting of innocent people. Yet if his excuse had been that he was trying to "liberate America from Socialism" he would have received sympathy from the 2nd Amendment crowd.
More terminology based on willful ignorance.Likewise, one could ask how and why a Vietnamese immagrant could aquire or need an arsenal of weapons.
Yes... No doubt, some on the rabid anti-gun left hope to wake every mornig to the news of an event such as this, as it gives them hope that, someday, the law-abiding people of the US will FINALLY be disarmed.Like I said, some use these tragedies as nothing more than what may be described as retrained jubilee because it gives them an excuse pound their barbaric philosophies even more.
ROTFL!!!!!! Thank you!!!!
Moderator's Warning: |
Awesome, you take something I say out of context, and use it to continue your strawman. ignoring other posts I make that explain that comment.
You saw this post, this explaination:
http://www.debatepolitics.com/break...ges-taken-binghamton-ny-7.html#post1057981365
but instead of honest discussion you want to continue this line of baiting, fine by me, i can play any way YOU want.
Get back to me when you want an honest discussion.
Hey Captain!
Look you and skycore have the same dishonest commentary of my point. your in great company. :ssst:
Are you going to stop lying about my position or are you going to continue to foolishy behave here?
Then, as I said, please explain the post. Since, thus far you haven't, I must conclude that you do not want honest discussion. If you do, clarify what you meant.
Are you going to clarify your position, or just bluster around, avoiding and diverting? If what is being claimed is NOT what you meant, clarify and correct...if you can. You have been asked several times and have not done so. I am interested in your position on this and clarification of your post.
Yet you still haven't explained your post, or refuted what has been stated. I wonder why that is?
