Whether an Israeli or a Jordanian source, established intelligence protocol requires obtaining the permission of the source agency/government before sharing classified intel with third [foreign] parties.
 
But remember, there’s absolutely no reason to be concerned about possible ties between Trump and Russia. It was totally worth risking the lives of Israeli Commandos for... something.
 

I can actually remember discussing this not this morning, when someone posted it. No. I can remember way back when, when it happened. Silly bluper of a President with no experience in foreign policy and and the fineries of intelligence agency traditions. It was really quite interesting as it was just the thing to expect, if you put someone in a job without the required experience. Trump’s predecessor made similar mistakes for which the chickens are coming home to roost.
 
If this was Obama, the GOP Congress would be lining up investigations.

Fortunately, the Israelis now know not to share intel with Trump because he can't be trusted to not spill the beans.

Trump does not have the authority to declassify intelligence that originated from allied sources. (I.e Israel.)

In the intel world, we add caveats as to who can receive these reports for a reason. We don’t add “//REL TO FVEY” or “//NOFORN” for fun. We do it beside it prevents Russia (and by extension, Iran) to know that we have the capability to know. Which compromises both capabilities and the lives of possible human sources.

But legally speaking, you are right. Trump can declassify intelligence as he wishes. But can you agree that declassifying Intel fathered from our alllies in the ME is a dangerous concept?

Respected by who? You? Haaretz (The Land) has been published since 1918 and is owned/distributed by the New York Times.

I still can't decide if the Russians here are laughing about Trumps intel blabbing or a Trump "grabbing *****" anecdote.

 

General McMaster can say whatever he likes, but considering he never worked as an intelligence officer I’ll take what he said with a grain of salt. Anyone with any time spent working with sensitive information would know better than to think sharing classified information with people without the classification or need to know is harmless.
 

I have to say these Trump era scandals a really bland compared to the scandals of the last administration

Like when Obama used the IRS to target innocent American citizens based on Political affiliation.

Or when he used his DOJ to target journalist and hack into their phone records

Or when he flew 400 million USD to the leading State sponsor of terror, or when he made billions of dollars in illegal payments to insurance companies

Of-course you people ignored every one of these scandals ( and so much more ) but that only legitimized them even more.

I guess we'll have to wait for the next Democrat administration to see a REAL Presidential scandal again

I am sure you know more about it than a Lieutenant General in the United States Army and National Security Advisor to President Trump.

Yes. I’m sure I can provide a more factual account on the importance of Operational security than a 3 Star who has everything to lose for speaking truthfully and correctly about his boss mishandling information.

No you can not. Just because you may have a clearance does not mean you have any more background in managing Operational security.
Many people have Top Secret code word need to know clearances.

It’s a very interesting story. I wonder why major media didn’t cover it. And I wonder if it’s true. Also wonder why the airports lifted their ban on electronics seeing that they had intelligence that said laptops were being turned into bombs that were undetectable. Doesn’t make sense that ban would ever be lifted. And it doesn’t wash that we wouldn’t have done the exact same thing. Care to hazard a guess?

My difficulties may be due to my using an IPad. Don’t know. But I couldn’t load the original link. I often have problems loading click bait sites. Just keeps giving me a message “There was a problem loading this web page. Reloading now.” Or some such.

I have to disagree. That source is not a click bait source at all. It is a respectable news source, just in Israel.
 

It was a gigantic, colossal story, but trump buried it with the next gigantic scandal as he's fond of doing.
