Report: RNC Paid $2 Million to McGahn's Law Firm in April

Report: RNC Paid $2 Million to McGahn's Law Firm in April | Newsmax.com

The Republican National Committee shelled out $2 million in April for legal services to former White House counsel Donald McGahn's law firm's” raising questions about its impact on his decision not to testify Tuesday before Congress.

In an Federal Election Commission filing itemized by ProPublica, the RN's top expense in April was $2 million for "legal and compliance services" to McGahn's firm, Jones Day, out of $14.3 million total spending last month.

The RNC said in a statement the payment was a bulk billing for two year's worth of work, the Washington Post reported Tuesday.

This can be construed in two ways. It's possible that the RNC bundled up all their $2 million payment for legal fees to the firm that Don McGhan works for, OR.... it's possible that this was money guaranteed to them for McGhan's silence and defiance of a Congressional subpoena.

Bulk billing for 2 years worth of services? Who works for 2 years without getting paid? Do the parents of the Jones Day employees know about this? If my kids had jobs in a company that let people skate out of paying for 2 years, I'd have a serious talk with them about working for a more responsible employer.

looks like more hush money. if he's willing to risk contempt of congress for that cheap, that seems pretty dumb.

So, the RNC has been paying Jones Day for legal services for over the years and some are attempting to insinuate the the most recent payment COULD BE a hush money payment toward Mcgahn.

Oh FFS.

That's what struck me too. They did work for 2 years and didn't ask for payment that entire time? Talk about bull****.

This doesn't look good at all. But nothing the Republicans are doing these days looks good.

Whoa, got him now! Collusion! Obstruction! He's a "fixer"! Hush money! Putin, Putin, Putin, Putin... AHHHHHHHH!

The RNC has spent $2.7 million in legal fees so far this year, compared to $2 million by the Democratic National Committee.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...fc796cf2ec0_story.html?utm_term=.f2b5168462bb

So the RNC paid $2.7M on legal fees this year... and the DNC $2.0M. The article notes that most of the recent payment is due to activity in the 2018 election cycle. That all sounds pretty consistent.

You're terrible at it. Perhaps what you're "educated" on is not so spectacular?

So what you are posting here is that the people who paid the money and the people who got the money say one thing.

However, there are people who hate these folks who are making up crap to attack them.

It's a mystery. Who should we trust to know more about what actually happened?

Nothing the Democrats say the Republicans are doing looks good.

Just thought I'd try to help you with your understanding.

A good educator leads the student to the threshold of understanding. The Student is the only one that can take the next step.

Nothing can be taught if the student refuses to learn.

I understand perfectly. Your complaining about Democrats has nothing to do with what is being discussed in this thread.

You're not a good educator. Sorry.

All I can do is try. Sometimes the students are a bit thick. Very thick.

Sometimes the teacher is blind and stuck in a bygone era of cowboys and Indians, but I digress.

Cowboys and Indians... just like a little kid... in need of education more than anyone. I'm rooting for you!

And I spend my time here trying to reanimate the brain dead, so far, no success. All that seems to happen is more blinders and burying heads deeper into the sand. I mean after all, who doesn't know trump is the best president ever and very calm as his staff told us yesterday. What else should one expect from a very stable genius?

I recommend starting with the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Learn what was going on then, what the founders were trying to do in setting up a government that would not become like the one they just broke from. Why they were so concerned about the federal government becoming to powerful... the importance of personal liberties and freedoms.
