Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's ex-personal lawyer, reached a plea deal Tuesday on campaign finance violations, bank fraud and tax evasion, according to a news report.
According to ABC, Cohen came to an agreement with federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York.
The reported deal comes after reports that federal investigators were looking into whether Cohen committed bank and tax fraud worth more than $20 million, according to a media report. The New York Times, citing anonymous sources, said authorities were focusing on loans obtained for taxi businesses owned by Cohen and his family.

It was probably not a particularly good idea to let Cohen twist in the wind. The man knows at least 20 years of Trump's financial dealings, including all of his dealings with Russia.

Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s former personal attorney, is in talks to plead guilty to criminal charges in a deal that would bring an end to a months-long investigation that has riled the President, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The details of the plea are still being negotiated, the sources cautioned, and talks could fall apart. The US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York is investigating Cohen for potential bank fraud, tax fraud and campaign finance violations. If talks fall apart, federal prosecutors are expected to indict Cohen.
As part of the plea deal under discussion, Cohen is not expected to cooperate with the government, one source said. However, by pleading guilty both Cohen and prosecutors would avoid the spectacle and uncertainty of a trial.

Yea, some are better at it than others. Trump has the best of them.Best people = those trying to get away with crimes
Has he confirmed yet that he did visit Prague, the missing link to confirm the validity of the Steele Dossier?
Reports are 3 years in jail, and large fine(s). Means he keeps a ton of money.
Now the interesting charges will be campaign financing charges.
Clear he did not take a bullet for Trump, may send a few bullets Trumps way
To be brutally honest - I do not care how sweet the deal is benefitting Cohen if he can provide the information that gets rid of Trump. It will be well worth it.
Mueller keeps on tightening the noose.
Wait for the money laundering from Russians over decades, which will include his family members

You re spot on about that. I just picked up the book HOUSE OF TRUMP, HOUSE OF PUTIN and while I am only 40 pages into it, there is already much about this very subject.
I don't think Trump can pardon him.Wow, I only read one source but it said that working with the govt was NOT part of the plea deal.
So there's a decent chance he'll get off completely. He'll take the deal and Trump will reward him for not rolling over on him by pardoning him.
What garbage.
Meh. Justice needs to be served. Cohen shouldn't be treated more or less harshly because of Trump. And Trump should only be removed if he's committed criminal acts. It's not a crime to be a terrible president. We are who we are as a nation because of the rule of law. Deviating to get the result we want is what enables people like Trump. The only way we make it through this as a nation is if we dot every I and cross every T.
Is that the fellow who was on CNN 2 days ago? Book lists Russian contacts/property purchases back to the 80's???
THe plea deal doesnt include him providing the govt with info in the (only) source I've read (so far.)
I don't think Trump can pardon him.
We will see. That would really make no sense if there was not a cooperation deal in place. In fact, I think we will find out that the reason he has been silent for these past two weeks is that he already has been spilling his guts to the feds.
I don't think Trump can pardon him.
