Nexus card? I've thought about getting one of those.I'm not certain but if you have one of those wallet size "border passports" they will work too. I used to have one but driving down to Puerto Penasco got to be too much of a hassle and I let it expire during Covid.

In Ohio, for the first time, I had to take off my glasses for the picture. I asked why, and they said that the new cameras & software were incompatible with glasses in the pictures!!??So I got my new Georgia drivers license in the mail today. Quite a bit different from my last one. The pic is in black and white, and instead of a gold star, I have a black star.
Supposedly the stars identify you as "real ID compliant" to board domestic flights and access certain federal facilities. There is no difference between the gold and black star.
The black and white photo is new. The changes are meant to prevent scammers from making copies of others' licenses. "The first thing your viewers will notice when they look at the new license is the photo is black and white. So that's a new industry standard, it is harder to fake and makes the facial features more distinctive,"
Cool. What's it like in other states?
Holy Shit.

Just got my Real ID, pic is in color. Not as thick plastic, kinda cheap feeling. Has two holograms. Has veteran and flag in one corner gold circle with white star in the other. So I got my new Georgia drivers license in the mail today. Quite a bit different from my last one. Going black and white to avoid copying others licenses? Sounds strange. I would think that would make them easier to copy. In my state, that border's Georgia, they simply went to holographic images that are very difficult to reproduce. So I got my new Georgia drivers license in the mail today. Does sound strange, but it's explained in more detail on GA.'s DMV website. Supposedly it's harder to fake distinct facial features and make them more destinguishable. We've got the holograms too.Going black and white to avoid copying others licenses? Sounds strange. I would think that would make them easier to copy. Well obviously the black and white pic is not a national standard. The new black and white pic is very granular and unclear. Seems like they're designed to do NO ONE justice. I think cops rely more on running your number through DMV.Just got my Real ID, pic is in color. Not as thick plastic, kinda cheap feeling. Has two holograms. I got my Californinia DL/RI little over two years ago: Photo in color; star is white on a golden bear outline. So I got my new Georgia drivers license in the mail today. Quite a bit different from my last one. The pic is in black and white, and instead of a gold star, I have a black star.

Yeah, I got stopped by a cop a year ago. I have scars on my throat from surgery, so I grew a beard. My license is clean shaven. I've never gotten a second glance from that cop, any cashier or teller....Well obviously the black and white pic is not a national standard. The new black and white pic is very granular and unclear. Just for the sake of curiosity, I'll check out the web site. I think going to black and white is a step backwards.Does sound strange, but it's explained in more detail on GA.'s DMV website.
