Renewed Georgia Drivers License

So I got my new Georgia drivers license in the mail today. Quite a bit different from my last one. The pic is in black and white, and instead of a gold star, I have a black star.

Supposedly the stars identify you as "real ID compliant" to board domestic flights and access certain federal facilities. There is no difference between the gold and black star.
The black and white photo is new. The changes are meant to prevent scammers from making copies of others' licenses. "The first thing your viewers will notice when they look at the new license is the photo is black and white. So that's a new industry standard, it is harder to fake and makes the facial features more distinctive,"

I haven't gotten the new version yet, as I have a passport which I believe I can use to fly with under the new rules. I fricken hope so!!

We've had those for a while. We're not allowed to smile for the photo so I look like a psyco serial killer. If the police ever pull me over for speeding they'll take one look at my licence photo and shoot me.

LOL! My pic sucks too! I look like a very unhappy camper! (And I wasn't, I made it in and out in under 30 minutes!) At least they didn't make me pull back my bangs like they did 8 years ago!

Color, but I gotta renew since the last time was 2019.

My renewal this year, picture looks exactly like my last one. Hair a mess, scruffy. Online renewal uses same photo or you can submit new. I just don't care. I could be slobbering with a big booger hanging out of my nose. As long as I got ID when needed.

I called him right away but by then a dozen of his friends had texted "dude!!!" and he'd taken it down.

BTW with new Samsung phones if you take a photo with personal information in the background it warns you if you try to share it.

I tried it with my passport open in the background. When I tried to email it to myself I got an "are you sure you want to do this?" popup with the passport red circled

Hell! I wasn't allowed to use my photo from 8 years ago where I actually look like a semi-normal human! I show up with NO makeup and look 50 years older than my last pic! I also wasn't allowed to renew online, they made me come in to read 4 numbers in the "eye test' box? On the upside, it's DONE and I can stop worrying about someone stealing my new DL out of my mailbox!

Yeah, I tried to warn/curb my stepsons online dumb shit best I could. Would tell him possible consequences of doing 'this or that'. It probably didn't do much good.

I found the "real ID" to be a bit of a pain in the ass. I showed up with so much stuff that it would have taken a jury less than two minutes to convict me of being myself, yet there was still some ****ing problem. We ended up getting it figured it out at the same visit, so I don't have to do it again for a while.

The other new feature is that if I press the power button 5 times fast it calls 911 and simultaneously sends them my coordinates.

You can only do online here up to 65. Then have to go in and test. If you go in, can renew for 8. Online only 4 for whatever reason.

With my one shot eye, I just do online now as to skip the eye test. Other eye is perfect, but they may try and throw some nighttime restriction on or something. Perfectly legal to drive with monovision, granted you have a mirror on your bad side.(check).

I wonder if I can still use the same photo to 65? I'll stay younger for years!

No such luck here. I was 59 when I renewed last time and they wouldn't let me use that half way decent pic. I went in and renewed for 8 years. My next pic will be of a skeleton!
