As Corpus Christi processions seem to be virtually unknown in the US, now I ask if you know processions on other days or in other countries.

And have you taken part in any?

I was forced into mayday processions for eight years straight.

In Germany we also have Saint Wendelin processions for horses
Seriously stupid. Religion to me is like putting all of your reasoning on hold to believe some truly wild stories about a god that I see no reason to believe exists.

Just recently we marched in a Corpus Christi Procession in Pa............................many churches do it. The K of C was there, as were CCD classes & First Communicants...........

How wouls a person of religious faith be at a disadvantage compared with you???
Because I don't believe in some supernatural being in charge of it all like religious folks do. I'll just put it in god's hands, that should do it. Yeah, keep waiting. I don't confuse myself with superstitious hoodoo voodoo.

Putting things in God's hands saves a lotta fear/worry/stress, Bongs...

Can't think of any local processions that celebrate religious skepticism. If there is an atheist or agnostic parade nearby, I will check it out.

in the Black Forest the First Communicants then wear beautiful traditional costumes for these processions. 🌹

Maybe for you but your god doesn't pay my bills. To me it's like saying, I can't deal with this situation so I'll let god take care of it.

I have only ever participated in the stations of the Cross in not sure if that's a procession.

Well, I didn't mean putting it in God's hands is sitting back on your royals...there are scriptures that point to certain Bible principles to follow...as with all things, balance is the key...

If anyone does not want to work, neither let him eat.” 2 Thessalonians 3:10

"Make it your aim to live quietly+ and to mind your own business+ and to work with your hands,+ just as we instructed you, so that you may walk decently in the eyes of people outside+ and not need anything." 1 Thessalonians 4:11,12

"Certainly if anyone does not provide for those who are his own, and especially for those who are members of his household, he has disowned the faith and is worse than a person without faith." 1 Timothy 5:8

Those who put their faith in God are assured we will be taken care of and remembered by Him...

"I was once young and now I am old, But I have not seen anyone righteous abandoned,+Nor his children looking for bread." Psalm 37:25

“Keep on, then, seeking first the Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these other things will be added to you.+ 34 So never be anxious about the next day,+ for the next day will have its own anxieties. Each day has enough of its own troubles." Matthew 6:33

"Work, not for the food that perishes,+ but for the food that remains for everlasting life,+ which the Son of man will give you; for on this one the Father, God himself, has put his seal of approval.”" John 6:27

I could give you more but I think you get the picture...:)

Okay, for the sake of focusing on the topic--processions rather than your opinion on religion in general--let's pretend that this is a graduation procession that includes people wearing funny clothes and hats. Is this okay? Why do people do this anyway? To invest dignity in the occasion and signify that it's special and important? What do you think?

I think you have never seen a festive procession of horses.
On the day of Saint Wendelin.
It is impressive.

Religious processions, in my opinion, do nothing to help any situation, they fool the believer into believing they do do something other than make the person feel better, maybe? Religious processions are not special, they're stupid, there are no gods. If you want to insist I'm wrong, send your god over to my place so we can talk, ok?

You deflected entirely from all my questions.
