The lighting is way off. If I were to make an educated guess, I'd say Jane Fonda was standing somewhere indoors with no light above reflecting against her face but a very soft ambient lighting. John Kerry on the other hand is standing on a surface that not only reflects light but the light is also hitting him at an angle consistent with noon sunlight.
