Number has been steadily rising since fiscal 2015, when fewer than 40,000 such migrants were arrested

Arrests of families crossing into the U.S. illegally in the past five months hit a record, prompting the chief of Customs and Border Protection to say the system is at “the breaking point.”

From October through February, border agents arrested 136,150 people traveling in families for crossing the border illegally. The prior record for a 12-month period was 107,212, during the fiscal year that ended in September.

That is the point, isn’t it? The idea is to flood the country with cheap labor, and when the democrats regain control someday, grant amnesty and reach socialism that way.

The Chamber of Commerce is all for open borders since they consider the lower tier US workforce to be a pain in the ass. Bitching about overtime, pay, safety equipment, equipment hazards, etc.
 

That's one of the other boogiemen that the Repubs plan to use in 2020: the Left are socialists = communists & if you vote for them you will wind up on one of Stalin's 1920s-era collective farms starving to death. Only the Repubs can stem this flood of commie-socialism. Vote Trump!

How is Trump losing support over this? Does the base expect Trump to scare the caravans away with some kind of wizard powers? I don't get it.

What specifically hasn't he delivered? Is this just about the wall, because if there was a wall, the caravans could still approach a wall.

He's lost the support of populists like Ann Coulter, and gained support of some neocons like Ben Shapiro. Even lifelong liberal Democrat Alan Dershowitz became a Trump supporter. Trump has lost the enthusiasm of many in his base, and will have to rely on the likes of Shapiro and Dershowitz, who are unpredictable and just as likely to support a Dem candidate in 2020. His presidency is done.

Trump's Republican supporters today are all people who wanted Cruz, Rubio, or Bush in the R primary, including Hannity, Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham, and the like.

If you were a staunch Trump supporter from the beginning (2015), you're probably not happy with 2019 Trump.

Simply put, Trump's 'America First' campaign slogan didn't materialize into actually putting America first during his presidency. Here are some of the promises Trump made during 2016, which he's failed to follow through on-

* radical revamping of American infrastructure to modernize up to standards enjoyed by other countries
* ending financial migrant workers taking Americans jobs through the H-1b visa program
* ending anchor baby laws and chain migration
* building a wall on the border
* ending unfair trade practices which benefit our trading partners overseas
* putting the needs of Americans first

Here's what he's actually done-

* a tax cut
* prison reform to let inmates out early
* a program which spends American tax dollars to educate foreign girls in developing countries
* moved the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem
* signed a bill for $38 billion in free money for Israel
* pledged to fight homophobia in the middle east
* pledged to fight antisemitism world wide
* increased the number of H-1b workers
* increased the number of legalized immigrants
* increased the number is illegal border crossings

His accomplishments are the economy.... And the economy. That's it.

Doesn't quote have that Caravans, MS-13, Terrorists at the border ring to it, does it?

They will be processed and turned around or processed and allowed in.

Not so worried about socialist programs myself, but tell me , how are you going to give us GOOD health care if you just open the borders and let everyone take advantage of it? no way that can be successful.

until you can come up with a plan that shows how that will work , yeah we have a border problem. especially with more and more automation coming.

and please, spare me the "oh but we don't want OPEN borders" spiel... until dems push SOME sort of border security plan that actually STOPS border breaches and Illegal immigration, they want open borders, apparently. its in the what you do, not what you say.

We need to stop these people from entering the country. If we have to arrest them we have already lost. Sounds like an emergency situation to me.
