Russians are ahead of just about anyone when it comes to propaganda. We became aware of how Russian propaganda affects our elections in 2015 when Russian troll farms churned out anti-Clinton propaganda on social media. Disinformation was not invented by Russia, but the use of propaganda, and the power it has over the minds of people, developed into a skill by Russia under former KGB Lieutenant Vladimir Putin.
The most recent example of Russian propaganda is video of a U.S. M113 personnel carrier, which was captured by Russian forces in Ukraine. The video shows the carrier flying both a Russian and American flag. Russian state-run media is signaling that the U.S. and Russia are actually united in a battle against Ukraine. The footage of this vehicle is indicative of Putin's attitude regarding any ongoing peace talks. It doesn't matter if a trilateral meeting is set up between the nations. Putin isn't going to back down unless he gets substantial concessions from Ukraine.
I'm posting this particular video of the M113, even though there are multiple videos online, but this one in particular is fascinating because it was evidently posted on TikTok by a Russian supporter. It's easy enough to identify this poster as a Russian troll by the comments on the video.
