Well, I think you're projecting a rightwing movie on the screen here.
There's no evidence Obama was "locked and loaded." He's cautiously and deliberately moved forward, gathered intelligence and tried to garner support, both from other countries and more importantly Congress, which is appropriate. I call that statesmanship. I call what Bush did stupidity.
Another partisan apologist.
Assad is a SOB, if not a monster. So are half the leaders of the world. That's not the issue we face. Let's stipulate that Assad is a vicious dictator. It doesn't follow that he deployed the chemical weapons, or that the rebels are good guys. Indeed, the rebels have a substantial number of jihadists who would do a lot worse than use chemical weapons if they had a chance. I don't think we should be the ones to give them that chance. Even if there are some genuine democrats mixed in with the rebels (we think)
This is not patriots versus redcoats. It's vicious secular dictator against vicious sectarian jihadists.

Jihadists and Islamists make up a minority of fighters and organized formations in Syria. The Free Syrian Army remains largely moderate (i.e. non-Islamist) and is commanded and officered primarily by non-Islamist's. The FSA still fields more than 50,000 fighters.
The UN has categorised the FSA as an al Qaida affiliate!

No it does not.
August 12, 2012 - The Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) currently arming, funding, and commanding entire brigades of the so-called "Free Syrian Army" (FSA), is designated an Al Qaeda affiliate by the United Nations pursuant to resolutions 1267 (1999) and 1989 (2011), in addition to being listed by both the US State Department and the UK Home Office (page 5, .pdf) as a foreign terrorist organization and a proscribed terrorist organization respectively.
The Al-Qaida Sanctions Committee
As I stated before Barack Hussein couldn't always make the mistake of being on the wrong side every time!As Putin and Assad have repeatedly pointed out (myself as well) the US is interfering with Assad's war on terror!
