Ray Epps Story is a Good Indicator of Fake News Outlets and Real News Outlets

The theory that Ray Epps was an FBI informant stoking the mob was covered widely by the likes of Joe Rogan, the Breaking Points Podcast, the Daily Wire, and more. This theory was brought up over twenty times on Tucker Carlson’s show alone, not to mention elsewhere on Fox.

Now, thanks to the January 6th investigations and the work of actual journalists, we know that all of their hypotheses were completely wrong. Ray Epps was just an idiot shouting stupid shit in a sea of idiots shouting stupid shit on January 6th.

There was never any actual proof of this accusation. Accordingly, responsible news outlets never promoted the accusations that Fox and others did. In fact, Fox and the others hid exculpatory information, such as video of Epps trying to calm down the protesters and helping bring an injured person to safety before any of the violence against police started.

There's a real difference between right-wing media and real information sources.
 
The GOP way is to promote as many stories as they can to distract from whatever they are doing wrong. Evidence and accuracy are just not their concerns. Their concern is to either distract from their own failings, or damage the dems and distract from anything they are achieving. Fear and hate are today's Republicans currency. I hate watching it happen as it seriously diminishes the credibility of the GOP among anyone who can think further than a headline. Unfortunately, their attempts to mislead the voters are often effective. It's a sad reflection on the intelligence of the average Republican voter today, and it wasn't always like that.
 
People that were there with him on that day were calling him a fed for a reason. He was specifically, and repeatedly, calling for people to break into the Capitol. Then he was left to walk, while people that were basically just in the vicinity were charged for much less than his specific calls of incitement. It's not unreasonable to assume something fishy here, and the government's position of denying everything, even in congressional hearings, didn't do anything to dispel it.
 

Yeah the reason could NEVER be that people want to use him as a scapegoat for their own criminal trespass right?

That statement has nothing to do with him getting a pass and not being charged, nor does it excuse other people from their own actions. You made up shit that has nothing to do with what I said.

That is untrue. The only people charged either harmed a law enforcement officer, destroyed property or entered the Capitol building. Epps did none of those things. Name one person who was charged for yelling stupid things.

If all this were true, then why did the DOJ, in March, tell him they were "seeking to bring him up on charges? It seems they thought they had something to charge him with. And, why did they wait more than two years to tell him this? Also, why HAVEN'T they brought charges against him for the last four months?

These question fly in the face of those claims you've made.

I think you need to do some logical and deductive thinking about this issue.

Yeah...he got a pass for years. Nothing happened until the obvious overlooking of him by the DOJ, when they went after people for lesser crimes, wasn't able to be ignored. Why the hell do you think it's a story again?

That's literally the point. He wasn't charged for years, while others had the hammer brought down on them for less.

Did they remove him from the most wanted list before or after they interrogated him?

He did not harm a law enforcement person, he did not destroy property, he did not enter the Capitol building. Name one other person who was charged that did none of those things. It's funny how the right has decided that his exercising his first amendment right to say really stupid things is a crime.

People were most definitely charged for just being there and walking in when police were letting it happen.
