The guy was in the House for 20 years or so. He held a ton of sway in local politics out here so it will be interesting to see what the coming years have in store. Maybe a Republican (or even a different Democrat) will finally get some traction in his district.
Here in Dayton (OH) our Representative, Mike Turner, was recently bounced from the House Intel Committee (Turner was the Chairman) at trump's request*. Last year Turner issued a warning re Russia's stationing nuclear weapons in space. Turner supports aid to Ukraine. Apparently one or both of these incurred trump's wrath.

I've long assumed Turner's tenure is safe. Now, though, I worry that state or national Republicans might demand that Turner be replaced with someone more....compliant. (A Democrat doesn't stand the chance of an ice cube in hell in this district, in this state.) Since I'm stuck being represented by a Republican in Congress, I want Turner to keep his job.

*Apparently, this set a precedent - the President's direct interference in the Legislative Branch's disposition of elected representatives.

That’s two this week, they’ll never get a majority this way……

Aside from the increasing struggle to get a Democratic majority, RIP to a guy that clearly dedicated his life for the betterment of our country and world.

I'm in his district, and I never had any complaints about the guy.
