Why do people think CEOs get paid what they do? Why would anyone be willing to pay them that much?
Who do you think determines what C-suite executives get paid?

Hint: They don’t poll the customer service department.

Other executives (and executives that hold board seats) determine executive compensation levels.

A CFO that wants to be a CEO is going to approve a gigantic salary and hefty stock package and bonus, benefits for another executive.

It gives that CFO negotiating power for their own next raise and negotiation.

Then the executives sit around and decide how many customer service reps to lay off so they hit their numbers for the year so the executives collect their bonuses 😂🤷‍♀️

Out of those listed, garbage disposal is the most important.

The most important jobs I can think of are probably those that keep power stations/electricity grid running.

A CEO isn’t a small business owner.

A CEO isn’t fulfilling another role within a company.

CEO is a make believe title we have created in gigantic corporations.

Jeff Bezos was importsnt to Amazon when Jeff Bezos was a small business owner working out of a garage.

Jeff Bezos can never set foot on Amazon property ever again and the company will go on, with or without the role of CEO being filled.

I’m sorry you can’t differentiate between what are and are not crucial roles in society.

CEOs are not crucial to society.

And no…parks are not ESSENTIAL to society.

My own business was not deemed essential during shut downs.

Essential means essential. Crucial is crucial.

Some things are essential and crucial to a society. Others are nice to have.

There is a difference.

The position of CEO wasn't shut down during COVID.

It's remarkable you aren't running a gigantic corporation, getting rid of the upper management and thus making the business more profitable.

Oh wait...that would make you a non-essential in that corporation yourself.

Strange that virtually every corporation has the position you claim they don't need. Not only do they have that position, they tend to see a great deal of value in it. I don't think they're concerned with you not seeing any value at all. I don't want to be too critical though. I don't see any value in fake fingernails but people buy that shit, so they must see value.

Your own business being somehow exempt from your general rule is funny though.

My own family businesses were closed as non-essential during Covid.

It sucked.

But it was reality. They aren’t essential to society. 🤷‍♀️

I said above they were deemed non-essential. I’m sorry you didn’t read?

Ah, but you're also saying the CEO is non-essential to the company.

So all the workers and whoever manages your company are non-essential to your company.

After Covid, your company could have continued as well without management.

Keep digging, that hole looks great?

Absolutely!

If we didn't have business owners then we wouldn't have businesses and we would all be economically equal because we'd all be unemployed. It would be the PERFECT model of Communism.
Yep, who needs them? It's always better to do it the left's way, and cut off one's nose to spite one's face.

Um, a CEO is the head of a corporation, that is a much more advanced organization than a sole proprietorship, which is another derivative from a hunter-gatherer. We had trading long before capitalism or communism, so this idea that "business" cannot exist without CEO's is absurd, but then I'm finding your postings to often be absurd.

Was it you who said they made big bucks while working in the corporate world alongside corporate level executive women?
What does that have to do with being essential or crucial to society?

Absolutely nothing.

How much money a position earns =\= whether that position is essential to a society.

In fact, most of the highest paid people are completely non-essential to society.

And most of the most crucial and essential roles in society are unpaid and/or low paid.

As someone else pointed out - parents.

Vital. Crucial. Essential.

Unpaid.

🤷‍♀️

Some people apparently think people are paid based on the value their job holds to society.

This is a false assumption.
