Rand Paul made a public appeal to the press when he spoke at Trump's rally in Kentucky two days ago. He's demanding the name of the whistleblower be made public so the right can attack this man and rip his reputation to shreds. The whistleblower's identity isn't even relevant any longer since at least 4 witnesses have given depositions that validate everything the whistleblower claimed.

Rand Paul and Donald Trump are insisting that media break the law by revealing this man's identity. The Whistleblower Protection Act protects his identity and his physical safety. So we can see how this is going to proceed. We have a Congressman and President that are both eager to break the law and to encourage others to do so, we have a Senator that refuses to even read transcripts of depositions and is already refusing to impeach Trump no matter what the charges are. The whistleblower's lawyer has sent a shot of warning over the bow of Rand Paul in two tweets today.

Trump will possibly reach the 2020 election as a president that has been impeached already, but only in the House of Representative, not the Senate. That is not going to be a 'good look' for a president that's going to have to convince the majority of people that he's not a crook and give him 4 more years to damage our democracy. I just don't see that happening.

In the interim, between today and next November, the Supreme Court may hear the case -- if they even choose to hear it --- regarding Trump's tax returns. If they do, they will no doubt uphold the ruling of the two lower courts, I don't care who in Trump's camp sits on the SC, they will most certainly uphold the two previous rulings, because they were ruled according to the letter of the law. If 8 years of Trump's taxes are released between today and Nov. 3, 2020, he's going to be wallowing in a sea of trouble and his reputation, even with his base, is going to recede even more.

Ahh Rand Paul, what a good party player.

I think ol' Rand is proof that the apple can indeed fall far from the tree.

Perhaps it’s a little game the Republican senators are playing.

Who can figuratively deep throat Trumps **** the hardest.

A republican president impeached with zero support from republican congressmen? Give me a break.

If Bernie gets elected, let's impeach him on day one. Need a crime you say? No you don't. It's a 100% political process.

There is no "whistleblower." This is an Obama holdover who went to Schiff, not the DOJ. It is absurd to claim that a witness can refuse to testify - but still be considered - all just his opinion anyway - where instead Democrat lawyers are writing out the answers. Defense attorneys don't get to testify in writing instead of the witness testifying in person.

It didn't stop Clinton, so it's not impossible to overcome something like this. But it may be harder for Trump because he's just so unpopular across the board. We'll see though. As I've said, 2020 is the Dems election to lose, and they have shown they are more than capable of that.

Let me clarify, since you appear confused by my comment. I'll copy and paste exactly what I've said so you can read it again; "Trump will possibly reach the 2020 election as a president that has been impeached already, but only in the House of Representative, not the Senate"

Yes, Trump will, without any doubt, be impeached in the House of Representatives. And as I have stated, he will not be impeached in the Senate.

I think ol' Rand is proof that the apple can indeed fall far from the tree.

It even makes you wonder if this particular apple is truly from the same tree.

The 'invisible' whistleblower has retained a very expensive attorney to represent his invisible self. Of course he's real.

No, that was a Deep State Conspiracy Theory excuse we've been hearing ever since the start to excuse the ineptness and corruption of the Trump Administration.

Very Libertarian of Mr. Paul.

But not too far from the tree. Does anyone else recall the little solo trip Rand Paul made to Russia in 2018? I have no doubt whatsoever that Rand Paul is also a Russian operative. It's no coincidence that Rand Paul met alone with several Russians including Putin's top spy, Kisylak.

Paul (R-Ky.) met with several Russian senators, including Sergey Kislyak, Russia’s former envoy to Washington and a key player at the heart of the election interference scandal that continues to rock relations between the United States and Russia.

In a meeting at Russia’s upper house of parliament, Paul also invited Russian lawmakers to meet with U.S. Congress members, in Washington or elsewhere, the Interfax news agency reported him as saying. “I think this is in*cred*ibly important,” Paul said after the high-profile sit-down.

That meeting could take place as soon as this fall, said Konstantin Kosachev, head of the foreign relations committee in the upper house.

And lo and behold, as it's turning out, it's a coven of Republicans that are the real 'deep state'.

The whistleblower will be shown to be a partisan hack anti-Trumper.

If Bernie gets elected, let's impeach him on day one. Need a crime you say? No you don't. It's a 100% political process.

There's a Republican for you. Right and wrong mean absolutely nothing, truth means nothing, all that matters is party power. 'Political process' has no need to pay any attention to justice and truth. It's a license to lie and violate democracy. If Democrats were removing trump on trumped up charges, he'd have a point. They're not and he does not. He's just admitting his poor character and values.

The whistleblower will be shown to be a partisan hack anti-Trumper.

That's the only defense Republicans have at this point. Just as they tried to demolish the reputations of both Marie Yvanovitch and Col. Alex Vindman. Well here's news for you. Gordon Sondland was an 'always Trump' appointee and he turned out of fear of being locked up in prison for lying to Congress. When faced with real consequence for lying for Trump, they would rather tell the truth than face the dire consequences of their crime.

As long as his "Libertarian" views do not cross Trump, yes.

Seems about right.

I think that if everyone who claimed to be libertarian voted libertarian, that the LP would have much more exposure and probably a few candidates in office.

With the defeat of GOP Rep. Dana Rohrabacher in the 2018 midterms, Rand Paul is now the Kremlin's favorite Congressman.

He's a creepy little ****face.

And that will mean what, in the end?

It will mean that the Senate will not vote to remove Trump from office. The left seem to have forgotten that the vote will be held in the Republican Senate, just as Bill Clinton's impeachment trial was decided by a Democratic Senate.

The whistleblower will be shown to be a partisan hack anti-Trumper.

Maybe, maybe not. But he has also been shown to be entirely correct, so I can’t see how that would matter.

What does that have to do with the whistleblower? That person is basically irrelevant at this point. S/he was just the person who made the initial complaint, almost everything in the complaint has been supported by subsequent testimony.

The whistleblower needs to put his/her family in hiding.
