WASHINGTON — Kentucky Sen. Rand Paulofficially joined the 2016 presidential race today, hoping to remake the Republican Party with a mix of libertarian and conservative ideals that can attract minorities and young people.
On his campaign website, Paul announced, "I am running for president to return our country to the principles of liberty and limited government." The announcement includes a video testimonial from his wife, Kelley Ashby Paul.
Paul is scheduled to kick off his campaign with a rally in Louisville, Ky., and then will take questions via Facebook.

Expected. Rand Paul is officially in the race. Not a big announcement like Cruz, just a little posting on his website, but he is officially in the race.

That's good. I don't think I'll be voting for him but I'll listen to what he has to say. He'll be spending a lot of time here so I'll get to meet him hopefully soon.
I think I was pretty clear about my preferring the GOP to run as many nutsacks as possible in their primary.
He is running as an outsider.....his little get together is called Stand with Rand. His campaign platform is.....Defeat Washington!

Again, the alternative is a person whose claim to fame is being outshined by John Kerry in the role of Sec State and sleeping with Bill Clinton. I'm highly amused.
And if I'm an opponent I just run that tape of him with Alex Jones claiming flu vaccines kill more then the flu and ignore him.
He's like his dad, smart and good on many things and kookie on others.
Different level of the same crazy. I like some of his ideas, and I think at heart he's a good guy just... not someone I can support.I don't think he's as far out there as his father, who I liked, don't get me wrong.

I love these "anti establishment" slogans, "Help me defeat Washington by allowing me to become Washington!"
Defeating Washington sounds good to me.
Maybe he can run on "Hope and Change", or "Outside the Washington Way". Those little catch phrases caused a lot of suckers to vote for this guy in 2008....
He don't stand a chance.....his foreign Policy would place the US at greater Risk even more than BO has placed us at Risk. He is week on Iran and he would be left of BO on Iran.
Sorry bout that TB, I got caught up there for a couple of few seconds on a techno glitch.
His platform is Defeat the Washington Machine.
It worked for Obama.

I'm okay with that too. Defeating Washington on top of the machine defeat would be a nice added bonus.
When was the Last Constitutionalist that was in the White House? Btw, Its help him Defeat the Washington Machine.
