Sometimes it helps to have a sense of historical perspective. The right is very busy these days trying to paint themselves as the protectors of the Constitution, and the will and vision of our founding fathers. So their platform in on things like limiting immigration, stopping refugees seeking asylum from war and famine struck countries, and dissolving away the separation of church and state.
But what did our founding fathers say on these issues? Here is George Washington on immigration and refugees seeking asylum here:
Cool, then you have no problem with people owning m4's with high capacity magazines and silencers.
George Washington has also said:
"It is better to offer no excuse than a bad one." Important for those pointing to others for their shortcomings.
"If freedom of speech is taken away, then dumb and silent may we be led, like sheep to the slaughter." Important for the Dems that want to continue sensoring people for saying things they don't like/agree with.
Wait so now you guys want to listen to the founding fathers?

”Nothing in our opinion should be taken to cast doubt on longstanding prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms.”
- justice Antonin Scalia, opinion on famous Heller case
No one is against immigration. We're just against ILLEGAL aliens.

A free people ought not only to be armed, but disciplined.....
It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a Free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even of his personal services to the defense of it.

..“If freedom of speech is taken away, then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.”.....
To be prepared for war is one of the most effective means of preserving peace........
So you are butt hurt because you can't yell fire in a crowded theater?
Nope. Sorry. No can do. Not even the most conservative constitutional scholars and judges are that crazy and think that’s what the Constitution meant.

That isn't what the second amendment says but it's off topic anyway. As long as they are part of a State militia and we disband our standing army. No need for the Army since we have our State militia's.
So why ban travel by regular people? We’re not even talking about immigration here, legal or illegal.
What a perfect way of proving why pure originalism is necessarily and inherently BS. The Founders could not have had any intent on that question as those things did not exist. To argue that they did, you have to extrapolate about what they might have thought about such things had they existed like some dirty activist judge.

Just as soon as you can quote a Founding Father saying he had no problem with M4s with high capacity mags and silencers
