Question Re; Constitutional Convention President and Secretary Vote

Since PirateMk1 asked that we not comment in the voting thread I'm posting my question here.

In the likely event that no one candidate garners the 2/3rds vote necessary for election what's going to happen? Presumably a runoff but what are the rules?

Go with typical run off rules top two run off and whoever gets 2/3 or the closest to 2/3s wins. The way it looks now the secretary wont have a runoff but the presidential election will.

I didn't think about it that way. I am currently in communication with the President Pro-Temp, the Secretary Pro-Temp and the other candidates on the ballot to see how this needs to be addressed.

If this "convention" is going to be THAT anal then just take me outta the process completely. I'm not going to argue endlessly on stupid crap like this. And its stupid crap like this that is a clear indicator that this whole thing is going to be nothing more than a semantic fest and there are certain posters that are participating that excel at idiotic semantics.

I think you should reconsider. We are still in the "early days" of this and getting everything settled.

I am in a pissy mood atm. I'll think about it. But I can tell you that if it stays this anal I won't be participating. I have enough stress in my life without arguing with people over the definition of a word that we're using or whether a vote counts or not due to its format of two words being at opposite ends of where they want it to be. I at least could have understood the abstain being the reason as some people think that if you don't vote (which is what an abstain essentially is) then they shouldn't have a say at all. But this? No thank you.

Voters have a right to abstain from voting in a particular race. Their votes will be counted as valid if they are in the proper format. The secretary pro tem will notify those that voted improperly to reregister their vote in the proper format. Superfly, Orphanslug and Kal'Satng's votes will be counted. Votes will be counted if they CLEARLY and reasonably identified as votes for the named nominees or abstaining and their office, they do not have to be precisely the format but follow the format closely enough their vote can be determined as easily. The others will notified to reissue their vote. Thank you for you time. I understand that there those who are requiring absolute precision, this is well and good, however I should remind everyone that SOME discretion and flexibility is a good thing so as to not to get completely get lost in the minutia of things.

I have enough stress in my life without arguing with people over the definition of a word that we're using or whether a vote counts or not due to its format of two words being at opposite ends of where they want it to be. I at least could have understood the abstain being the reason as some people think that if you don't vote (which is what an abstain essentially is) then they shouldn't have a say at all. But this? I am trying to herd cats. Precision is going to be difficult to obtain without getting lost in the minutia. If they get the general gist and it can be clearly told who they are voting for and what position then it will be acceptable whether or not the name is before the position or after is immaterial.

Jango is voting for Paleocon twice but needs to resubmit because does not state if its for one position or both position.

I did that to keep the kitties on the range. There inevitably cats that go astray I was attempting to minimize that.
