Putin tells Edward Snowden: Russia doesn't carry out mass surveillance [W:31]

Re: Edward Snowden - Useful Idiot?u

Snowden probably knew the last time Putin took a ****, so Putin better watch his ass. He might have lots of dirt on Russia hidden somewhere too.

Unintentional violations? So I guess the NSA workers just 'accidentally' spied on their exes?

You can be sure Grenwald has lots of incriminating information on Russians and Americans set to use if Snowden gets in any trouble.

Re: Edward Snowden - Useful Idiot?u

that Russia is not carrying out mass surveillance programmes of the kind Snowden exposed in the US.

Sure they're not, only in certain places.

The new US Embassy in Moscow was half done. Then officials
realized the Soviets had built hundreds of listening devices
right into the structure.

Russians would never spy on their own citizens.

I thought it was clear that I meant intentional violations by the agency. That individuals broke the law and were punished for it is not the agency itself. In fact it shows adherence to the law. Or are you claiming they were authorized or encouraged to break the law?

Re: Edward Snowden - Useful Idiot?u

It may not have been a direct order from James Clapper or another bigwhig, but these were intentional violations, nevertheless. It's not like they simply tapped the wrong phone. These were clearly malicious acts by NSA workers. Yes, in this particular case they were caught, but we are opening a Pandora's box by granting more and more powers to certain people/institutions within our government.
