If Biden and Harris had not pushed so hard for Ukraine to join NATO there would have been no war according to President Putin.

Yeah, Obama's and Biden's foreign policy has been a total disaster.

Obama meddled in Syria and Libya and had no clue what to do there, resulting in 3 million Muslims streaming into Europe, people with a Middle-Age worldview who comitted atrocities among our native population (especially women) and who can never be integrated into Western society. Obviously, Germany's Merkel also is to blame for this mass invasion, because she invited them with "We can do this !" and created a massive magnet or "pull factor" (just like Biden and his WH aides, who let the Southern border spiral out of control).

That was already set into motion when his predecessor invaded Iraq and destabilized the entire region. Obama inherited that mess.

I think Trump really is and always has been NATO-skeptic. In that sense, it's possible to imagine that a President Trump in 2013 leads to different outcomes in Ukraine later. But I that as we might potentially see in the weeks and months ahead, it doesn't necessarily matter what a President's inherent political leanings or instincts are. He walks into that office and is subjected to the body politic and forces beyond his immediate control. He inherits the history of whatever led up to the conflict. He is responsible for maintaining America's image and being able to project power. If he makes overtures of feelgoodness and Putin ends up burning him (whether in 2025 or 2013), that's something Trump might not easily recover from politically, so he will behave based on whatever makes him look like a tough guy.

For these same reasons, I'm not entirely convinced a President Gore wouldn't have similarly invaded Iraq in 2003. Less likely? Maybe, but it was the Clinton administration that basically laid the groundwork for a military invasion and regime change in the late 1990s. I have a hard time believing Gore's really all that different.

I've seen some contortionists before. Folks that can assume unbelievable positions. But that is nothing compared to a Trump Fanboy. They manage to tie themselves in knots normally only seen on Loony Tunes.

During every moment of the Biden Administration we heard how Putin was too scared of Trump to even think of trying anything in Ukraine. When you pointed out that Putin was in the Crimean Peninsula which was Ukrainian every minute of that Trump Admin, and they even built a bridge to link Crimea and Russia during that Trump Admin, you got shouted at about how weak Biden was.

The Fanboys went on and on about how great Trump was at Negotiation. You pointed out he negotiated away Afghanistan to the Taliban, and they screamed it was a great plan and Biden screwed it up from sheer incompetence. When you asked the obvious question about why anyone would negotiate away someone else's country, and you pointed out that is what happened before World War II with Germany. Well the ranting and raving about how awful Biden was took pages to wade through.

Now, we have elected Trump. Trump who confidently assured us, and his Minions agreed that he could end the Ukraine Conflict in 24 hours. It's now August. Putin doesn't seem to be afraid of Trump. His attacks have increased and his slaughtering of Civilians has doubled. Trump promises severe penalties. Then he slaps Tariffs on a country we aren't trading with anyway. Because. Trump is STRONG. Apparently we hate a strong America if we dare question it.

Gone are the days when we heard how frightened the world is with Trump. Gone are the days when we heard how the world just Respected Trump and would never dare to oppose him. Long gone are the days when we heard how Putin was afraid of earning Trump's Ire. Or how if we elected Biden or Harris we would have World War III over Ukraine.

Trump tried to awe Putin with a flyover of a B-2 Bomber. That didn't work. If Trump had studied History, he might have known that wouldn't work. In 1945 Stalin was faced with a West who had the Atomic Bomb, while he did not. Stalin was in a weak position until he got his own bomb, and that would not happen overnight as negotiations would take place. So Stalin just ignored the bomb and continued acting like he had all the strength. The West couldn't figure this out. Of course the West imagined that the Soviet bomb would take at least five more years, some estimates said more than ten. It didn't take nearly that long. By the time the West did figure out that Stalin was acting strong, Stalin had the Bomb too.

So Putin shows up and meets a doddering old man who can't walk a straight line down the carpet. They show up trolling the crap out of Trump with CCCP sweatshirts and Chicken Kiev. They show up and Trump thinks a single plane can fly overhead and impress them. As if Russia doesn't know we have a grand total of 19 of the things total. As a show of strength, it was pathetic. The Russians know we fly the damned things over football games every year. If Trump really wanted to show the Russians how good we were, they should have flown over with a little Cessna. One of those penetrated Russian Radar and landed right in Red Square during the Cold War. That message would have been a tweak to the Russians. We know your defense is crap, a Cessna landed in the middle of Moscow while you guys were panicking about the West attacking and were at high alert.

Three hours goes by. Trump emerges without any deal at all. Honestly that was probably the best outcome. Because his plan according to reports was to essentially give away a solid third of Ukraine to Putin. Putin doesn't want part of Ukraine. He wants it all. That's why the CCCP Sweatshirt. He was telling the world that they're rebuilding the Soviet Union. Trump thinks it's a business deal writ large. He thinks it is like negotiating a Golf Course. He is so far out of his league that the game might as well be played in a different time zone.

The Fanboys of course, contorting themselves into positions that are physically impossible place the blame squarely on Biden and Obama. Because Trump is just great and the world knows it. Or Something.

Some people wonder when the Fanboys will finally realize that Trump never delivers what he says he will. I know that the Fanboys will never realize that. They hate the Left too much to admit that their Leader is an empty suit.

Ukraine wasn’t even in the opening stages of joining NATO when Russia invaded. Literally zero official actions had occurred.
