I wasn't suffering, pig.

and yet the stigma remains. It's amazing we've moved forward with anything controversial in this country

Hell, I'm not saying it's healthy. I'm just saying it was awesome.

I guess that makes me a joke or something.

Yeah to all the people who don't do drugs, pay their taxes on time, and always drive the speed limit

Don't worry, those who judge you are often just as bad

You keep submitting pics of meth users, even though this thread is about l.s.d.

Do you really not know the difference?

How do you know they are meth users?

Did you fail to read how the topic got off on MDMA and Ecstacy or as Mr. Ethereal put it "E".

Glorifying the use of drugs turns people into the above pictured folks.

The attitude, "I know its bad for me but its AWESOMeeeEe!!" turns people into the above listed folks.

Well for starters the Filename...

And anyone who's taken a semester in Substance Abuse or can use Google can easily find out what outward symptoms meth addicts show

also! Here's one of an alcoholic. Don't know if it was a 1 time thing or a hardcore addict though...

This is awesomely awesome recreational therapy!

MDMA is useful in sufferers of PTSD. In conjunction with therapy and standard drug treatment, it reduces the incidence and the intensity of flashbacks and helps the patient to reestablish normal emotional responses to stimuli. In moderate, therapeutic use the damage to serotonin receptors is mild to non-existent and is easily offset by the antidepressants that are among the standard treatment options for PTSD.

I'm not suggesting anyone use MDMA outside of a clinical setting. It's filthy stuff and half the time you're only getting standard methamphetamines anyway. But it's foolish to discard a drug's legitimate medicinal uses because of the potential for abuse-- heroin was invented as a less addictive alternative to morphine, after all.

There's still a lot we do not know about prolonged MDMA usage.

Who here is glorifying drug usage?

I find it interesting that heroine is less addictive than methadone, the pharmaceutical substance which is legally prescribed as an analgesic. My mom took methadone for a while and the physical withdrawal was essentially a longer version of a heroine withdrawal.

With regards to cells replacing the damaged cells, neurons in both the central and peripheral nervous system do not exhibit a high tendency to do so.

Neurons do not replenish like other cells in the body. Only in the early years of life, say 3-6 year old children, may display some acuity to adapt to neural damage. Afterward, especially after puberty, replacement of these types of cells are nearly impossible. Once the damage is done, it is very difficult to undue and most of the time it is irreversible.

Experiments on rats and monkeys are different though. The only thing is if you can draw conclusions about humans based off of it (for I don't think they would really allow this human experimentation to see for sure). The latest findings are that the damage is near immediate and permanent. As I said, I'm not going to stop people from destroying their brains. If they want to spit in the face of evolution, they can. Some of those people I'll probably stop regarding as human though.
