Prosecutors Leading Trump Fraud Investigation in NY Resign

"The two prosecutors leading the Manhattan district attorney’s investigation into former President Donald J. Trump and his business practices abruptly resigned on Wednesday amid a monthlong pause in their presentation of evidence to a grand jury, according to people with knowledge of the matter, throwing the future of the high-stakes inquiry into serious doubt.

The prosecutors, Carey R. Dunne and Mark F. Pomerantz, submitted their resignations after the new Manhattan district attorney, Alvin Bragg, indicated to them that he had doubts about moving forward with a case against Mr. Trump, the people said.

Mr. Pomerantz confirmed in a brief interview that he had resigned, but declined to elaborate. Mr. Dunne declined to comment."

What the heck is going on?

It's breaking news and this NYT article is about all I can find so far. Huff Post is reporting it too but their article was super short and just basically said the news is just breaking.
Because some run into a paywall with the NYT, I wanted to post an additional source. I was, however, able to read the long NYT article.
I would expect we'll have more sources within the next few hours.

It seems the Manhattan da doesn't want to do criminal charges and they did.

The new Manhattan da is going down. The San Francisco path it seems. He won't be there long

More on the above from the Times: (they have a paywall)

The pause coincides with an escalation in the activity of a parallel civil inquiry by the New York state attorney general, Letitia James, whose office is examining some of the same conduct by Mr. Trump.

This is most likely the reason

It's rotten luck that Cyrus Vance retired when he did. This might be the out that the crooks being prosecuted needed to walk away.

Mmmmm they may not see the point with James looking harder.

Well, this is certainly interesting and unexpected (at least to me)!

Hmm..... the lead prosecutor who replaced Vance in this case seems hesistant to go forward thus the resignations. Wonder which Trump cronie got to him

Looks like these two wanted to move forward aggressively but new DA replacing Cyrus Vance seems hesitant The reasons aren't clear but maybe be just wants to fold it into the State Attorney's investigation........Trump just may score a win or they may combine forces.... News at 11......

Sounds like he went from "This is obviously a consequential case, one that merits the attention of the DA personally" to having "serious doubts about the case" after he spent some time on it.

Not so sure that is the reason but there isn't enough info yet to get a clear picture.

They might be seeing what is coming out of the civil case. Who knows exactly why at this point.

There’s no there there.

It also coincides with National Banana Bread Day. So what?
