Progressives declare victory in spending bill fight
Progressives are declaring victory ahead of a possible vote Thursday on President Biden’s social spending and climate package, while saying they shouldn’t be blamed for their party losing the governor’s race in Virginia.

Liberals in the House for weeks have refused to allow a vote on a bipartisan infrastructure bill approved by the Senate without also getting one on the larger budget package.
Now it appears the House is inching toward a vote on that legislation, with another on the infrastructure bill to follow on Friday.

I wonder how Pelosi will polish and hide the progressive turds in Biden's Bill?

Will they tell Joe what's in the cake?

I don't know why anyone would blame progressives for losses in Virginia. Either blame the voters in Virginia or blame the candidates who failed to inspire, but blaming any particular ideological slice of Democratic coalition, seems silly. ,

On the other hand there is no victory in any spending bill until a bill has passed and been signed into law. Lets wait to blow up the balloons, shall we.

What is the unpopular progressive idea in the bill?

There's only one reason this infrastructure bill is being voted on: Manchin.

Progressives can "declare victory" all they want, but the fact is they were FORCED into this action by one of their own.

Even with the concessions, and the debate within the party which I'll gladly take over the kingdomhood of Trump, it's a big bill and a lot is going to get passed. What's happened on the hill is good ole fashion politics and compromise. Things look back to normal.
The Dems look like they know how to control the far left, and get a bit of what everybody wants unlike what's happened to the right where their extreme side is ruling the outcome.

Compromise is good, it's a huge bill and I expected the whittle down. I think it will turn out just fine.

Are we sure about that?
