PREZ ZINGS GOP FOE IN A $TIMULATING TALK - New York PostPresident Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.
"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.
I hope it induces the Republican party to grow a spine and give itself a good house cleaning, we need to get rid of the RINOS. If not I am switching to the Constitutionalist party, this next year will be the determining factor. If this doesn't wake up the drones of the Republican party, nothing will. It was a nice slap in the yapper. Good.
He is telling you the seat at the table is open for socialist ideas only.
The big problem is the MSM and the way they will try to spin things, they will bend over backwards to make failures look like successes. That's OK, his show, but don't go voting to support it.
Let the democrats stand alone holding the Big Bag of Feces.
If Obama violates constitutional and founding principles, I will support neither. We support the president, but not his policies.
No doubt, but it also speaks to a hint of arrogance that will eventually rear it's ugly head in full, and taking on Limbaugh is the epitome of stupid, look what Rush did to Harry Reid with the letter auction. It was a major league dumb move to single out Limbaugh. It illustrates he has no intention of listening to the right. And Limbaugh, as well as the remainder of talk radio (the left doesn't have a viable audience so they don't count as being in the market) is going to run with this to push the point home that Obama isn't about uniting, and Change means socialism, and Hope is delivered via government handing you goodies stolen from hard working tax payers.
At the very least, depending on the next two years, he is potentially setting himself up for a verrrrrry unfriendly Republican majority w/in two years, this is assuming the Democrats continue to screw the pooch(very likely) and the Republican party gets it's act together(remains to be seen).B.O. is setting himself up to fall so hard. The second coming of Carter.
The left would love this. Divide and conquer. May I suggest... don't do it. We'd end up eating excrement for a long time with a splintered party. Four years is long enough.I hope it induces the Republican party to grow a spine and give itself a good house cleaning, we need to get rid of the RINOS. If not I am switching to the Constitutionalist party, this next year will be the determining factor.
I dn't see socialist wealth redistribution in the Constitution. The Constitution is meaningless to the left. The Commi Manifesto, that's what needs implementing, and they're well on their way.If Obama violates constitutional and founding principles, I will support neither.
I LOVE the fact he did this, and did it early. I would love to have been in the R's offices after this meeting. Talk about giving the R's a lifeline. Now if they'd only take it.No doubt, but it also speaks to a hint of arrogance that will eventually rear it's ugly head in full, and taking on Limbaugh is the epitome of stupid, look what Rush did to Harry Reid with the letter auction.
Yep, and good. They needed ice water thrown over them and a good hard punch in the mug... and for Obamer, The Uniter to do it this so early warms my heart. At the very least, depending on the next two years, he is potentially setting himself up for a verrrrrry unfriendly Republican majority w/in two years, this is assuming the Democrats continue to screw the pooch(very likely) and the Republican party gets it's act together(remains to be seen).
I realize the left wants a splintered right, and will vote for those in any party I find to be the most in line with our founding values, I think a reduction in the Republican roles would be the kick in the pants the party needs to wake up, but, I need time to analyze the party in general, which is why I will give the decision enough time to make the correct one.The left would love this. Divide and conquer. May I suggest... don't do it. We'd end up eating excrement for a long time with a splintered party. Four years is long enough.
I hope you are right, but the comments coming from many in the party are less than encouraging. We're in a rebuilding phase... it will take a little time.
true, which is the reason I didn't vote for him in the first place, when the president is right I will support it, when he is wrong, the left will get everything they gave Bush and then some, at least from me.I dn't see socialist wealth redistribution in the Constitution. The Constitution is meaningless to the left. The Commi Manifesto, that's what needs implementing, and they're well on their way.
I agree, however they have to take it.I LOVE the fact he did this, and did it early. I would love to have been in the R's offices after this meeting. Talk about giving the R's a lifeline. Now if they'd only take it.
This takes that spine I mentioned earlier, hopefully someone in the party will show some.I'd start asking Obamer what exactly he doesn't like about what Rush proclaims. make him explain his blanket statement.
Of course, it will take the general public to see this, hopefully it will resonate.Yep, and good. They needed ice water thrown over them and a good hard punch in the mug... and for Obamer, The Uniter to do it this so early warms my heart.
Probably used a platitude to do so:roflI wonder if he cleared the statement with Greg Craig? LOL
Oh, Rush will make sure this is going to be heard nationwide. He'll add something that the libs will take out of context, as they always do... so he'll get a second rip at them.Of course, it will take the general public to see this, hopefully it will resonate.
This illustrates Saul Alinsky Obama has no intention to listen. It's all smoke. It would be different had he actually be open about his intentions, but he hasn't, which is a typical tactic of the socialists.
Dumb to blow your cover so early, but that illustrates a good chunk of arrogance. I like. Saul Alinsky Obama has usually been pretty slick, and uses the cover of the press expertly, but this isn't the campaign any longer. If Sun-Tsu was watching he'd be shaking his head. Obama blew his cover and is now attacking from open ground. He's exposed himself, and left his flank open to the biggest republican with 15 hours of air time to mount a crushing offensive.
Beautiful.
Wow. It's actually a little bit sad watching all of you act like this because you lost an election. Grow up. He made an innocent comment in the meeting to get the point across that just being flat against something that we are going to do is not helpful. They need to work with the group to get something that works and that they are more comfortable with or shut the hell up. If they don't help out then they can't bitch when something gets passed that is far left of what they would have gotten otherwise.
Predictable responses:
"I was for <enter name here> not McCain" translation: Bull****, I just wanted to feel special so I picked an alternative party to support. I knew we were going to loose and bitching makes me feel better.
What a hoot reading the pitiful Republicans so impotent in so many ways trying to find even the smallest crumb to hang your hats on! :rofl
There's a new sheriff in town and he's not going to let the old GOP ninkompoops get away with squat.
Carry on with your sore loser posts they are quite amusing! LOVE IT!

Absolutely! Obama is just starting to demonstrate how the Repubs have underestimated him, on all issues. They are in for a very rude awakening. In fact, I believe they'll be in need of serious counseling.
He is whining about people resisting what he wants. How is that underestimation?
How is passing legislation without lengthy debate good?
The Repukes were trying to force their views on Obama, like they were used to doing to the Dems when they were in power. Obama simply reminded them who had won the election.
You do realize we live in a republic.
Obama is not king
nor does he have any power to force what he wants through the congress.
How do you know that what he wants passed with out resistance will work?
Point being?
No, we the guy who thought he was king left town 4 days ago.
True. But, he does have the power to put his ideas on the table and does not have to put dumb, ignorant ideas from the Repubs on the table because he knows they don't work.
We don't. But they do make more sense. AND they are legal.
The American people have spoken and brought the Republicans this:You do realize we live in a republic.
Obama is not king nor does he have any power to force what he wants through the congress.

The American people have spoken and brought the Republicans this:
President Obama
Senate 59-41 DEMOCRATS
House 256-178 DEMOCRATS
Supreme Court 5-4 DEMOCRATS
Quite the majority which will lead to quite the legislative victories....for DEMOCRATS
In other worlds you hate the US Constitution and our entire system....talk about being a sore loser!Do you honestly think "the majority" has a handle on economics or constitutional law to understand who they should vote for?
This election for me was proof positive we should not embrace Universal Suffrage.

Agreed. I do not so much want to see the Democrats or the GOP succeed . I want to see America succeed for a change. Piss on all their party politics first crap and lets fix the country. For that we can not let just one party ram rod through a package claiming national crisis so don't look just vote. There was a weird thing on TV yesterday that they do not want to use the stimulus package to fund Pell grants but have 300 million marked for condoms. Yes that's right 300 million dollars worth of rubbers. So if any of you out there are unemployed rubber makers things may be looking up at least for you. Maybe they plan on bailing out the Nevada cat houses or something. Plus apparently there is money earmarked for the Arts. I do not see how 300 million dollars worth of rubbers and funding the arts is going to save the economy.
Truthfully I can see not using the money to fund Pell grants either. I believe college education aid to be important but it does not really qualify as stimulating the economy as in job creation and rebuilding our important private sector industries and this is what this money is supposed to be all about. But I would rather see some money go to Pell grants and other schooling loan programs rather than condoms and the Arts.
This bill needs to be investigated closely to make sure the politicians are not trying to fund their own useless pet projects for their campaign contributors. I really believe that this a period of time that we should watch all our elected officials very closely and they if they use this period in our history when average people are being wiped out as an excuse to pull more party politics then we should just clean house the next election on both parties. get rid of all of them,
Moe
A republic is majority rule but not at the expense of the minority.
That is just group think talking points. Obama is doing the exact same crap as Bush.
How are the republican ideas ignorant or dumb? which of his ideas are better?
Which of his ideas make sense?
Most of the garbage he is pushing through is not Constitutional
Sure, here you go:Use facts to show I hate the Constitution instead of emotional rhetoric please.
I lose if Republicans or Democrats get elected so yeah I'm tired of letting ignorant fools choose who wins and who loses in life.
I'm saying that your being against Universal Suffrage is really anti-constitutional. If you don't want to live in a Constitutional Republic you can choose one of many dictatorships around the world. This election for me was proof positive we should not embrace Universal Suffrage.
I think its great you can filter the partisan bull crap that moves its way through congress.
Remember that stimulating one business will cost another business. I don't think they should doing anything to chose the winners and losers in private affairs.
May I suggest the works of Frederic Bastiat. His writing are about 150 years old but it is like he predicted today almost word for word. http://www.fee.org/pdf/books/The_Law.pdf
I know the definition. However, if one party has the majority it is going to out vote the minority. It will also block/stymie the minority's efforts via various procedural rules.
Not at all.
Look at the last 8 years and their results.
So far, most of them.
Please, point them out.
