President's daughter hopes coming out will change anti-gay laws​

She's the President's daughter, so if everything goes according to Cameroonian law she will be arrested if she sets foot in the country again (which she doesn't have to since she lives abroad). As soon as she came out a hate group filed a complaint with the prosecutors.

27 years old Brenda Biya appears to have lived a very privileged life. Her 91 year old father, Paul, has remained at the pinnacle of Cameroon power for more than 40 years.

Yep, Paul Biya is an authoritarian who can do whatever he wants, so he can probably just order the prosecutors to not prosecute his daughter and ignore it.

Notwithstanding her privileged status, her public stance will bring the issue to the attention of the population and highlights both the draconian law and the disparate impact within the country itself.
