Out on a limb....I am of the opinion the House will pass the hard infrastructure bill and endorse the proposed framework for the social infrastructure bill. The Rubicon gets crossed today. What say you?

Are House Republicans going to vote for the bipartisan Senate bill or are they all voting no? If there is enough support there, it might pass over the objection of the radical left.

Its not going to get through the Senate. Sineca is a far more worrisome long term problem for the Dem agenda than Manchin is. He knows what his bottom line is, expresses it clearly . He's stubborn but a lot more consistent and predictable. He's pretty much acting like conservative Dems have for decades. I get the weird feeling Sineca does not much care if she serves another term or not, and she is being well paid not to.

We have to crack the unity of the Republican senate block, because Sineca is the true corporately owned / GOP sponsored Trojan Horse. Something smells very wrong about her.

You will know if Nancy puts the bill on the floor. Right now that looks doubtful for today. Trumpists vote no on everything.

I suspect that the progressive caucus is being pressed by their friends back home to demand a vote on their draft first, before there is any movement on something that is likely to carry the whole caucus, which is contrary to what Dem leadership and Biden wants. They want the recorded vote to fuel fears of a serious left wing primary challenge. I think I do too!

I hope it does as spending on infrastructure is a win/win.
You create good jobs to build it and you end up with stuff that millions of people can use so what's not to like?

The reason for the refusal to vote on the bipartisan bill first is simple and correct. If that passes there will be less pressure on the holdouts to get the social infrastructure bill passed. It is amusing that the Trumpists in the House would not vote for the bipartisan bill further emphasizing that they are not really Republicans. They could get the bill passed without the progressives. You would think that would be a priority but not for them.

Yeah, it seems like the Republicans should really be trying to isolate the progressives here. Passing a bipartisan bill without the progressives would undermine that wing of the Democratic party significantly.

Fortunately, the GOP is too stupid and obstinate for such strategy. They'll continue to be obstructionist to the end.

Donald Trump, Kevin McCarthy and Mitch McConnell do not want any political victories for Joe Biden. Obstruction worked well for them in the Obama administration, so they see no reason not to continue with it.

Mitch did vote for the bipartisan bill but I agree he is enjoying the mess it is causing House Democrats now.

Not looking good. As far as I'm concerned the Dems have nailed their own coffin. The deal will happen but none the less they will be decimated in 2022 and likely 2024 and they well deserve the defeat. Talk about hoisted by their own petard.

No vote. The democrat party is in chaos. Joe Biden cannot even unite his own party. The liberal far left is holding the democrats hostage.

I think the progressives are right here. They need both bills to pass together, and they need public assurance that the votes are there in the Senate for both. Sineca is untrustworthy.

Since there was bipartisan support for the infrastructure bill, you last comment is hackish and dopey

Unlike when Trump was in office, the left did everything they could to unite around his agenda didnt they. Its like you libs have no memory at all or you think no one will pick up on your hypocrisy.

Oh I personally advocated that not a single Dem vote in favor of a single piece of Trump legislation -to repay the GOP for what it did to Obama after it got control of Congress. I firmly believe that the Democratic party should duplicate and mimic the legal tactics that the GOP uses as long they are deemed effective and voters do not punish it. Voters rewarded their obstructionism rather than punish it so we need to be their mirror. Voters rewarded dirty nasty campaign tactics, we should adopt them. If voters want a lying narsacistic piece of amoral trash as President, we should find one ourselves. The voters get to pick the kind of politics they want when they decide what to reward and what to punish at the polls. Dems should mirror those characteristics and those tactics in pursuit of our own political agenda, and platform.

I hope the voters change their minds soon so that we can get something done!

OK How many Trumpists in the House will vote for that bill then? I doubt if it is even 5.
