Postal Service will electrify truck fleet by 2026 in climate win for Biden

I can tell you for certain that my 1 ton heat pump on my garage draws about 800 watts in turbo cooling mode,
when it is 95F plus outside, and 1300 watts in turbo heating mode when it is near freezing outside.
The power consumption does not lie, it uses more energy to heat than to cool.
How that translates to range on an electric vehicle is less clear, because they may be recovering
heat from the vehicle operations.
1,300 watts is less the 2 HP (horsepower). That is a fraction of the power driving and we are not heating or cooling a garage.
