Whites are the real victims of white supremacy.

"Despite largely holding the political, economic and social levers of power, nearly a third of white Americans say they have seen “a lot more” discrimination against white people in the past five years – and more than half of them say they have not seen a rise in discrimination against Black and Latino Americans."

People should be skeptical about how we politically perceive and address discrimination.

The poll story...

The story is not entirely about DEI but there is a perception that one political ideology is handling discrimination and the opposition encourages it, by polling the majority no longer agree that ole 'D and 'R are doing much about it nor believe they intend to. The optics are failing for someone being a champion for really anyone.

But the story also concludes there is still a decent percentage of people across all ethnicities that see an issue still there, work to be done, assuming we can find someone serious from today's lot of politicians to really care much for the underlying reasons.

It is only the last hold out race baiters that are keeping racism alive. If they would shut up and leave the younger generation take the reins it will all be just fine. NOW, the left is pushing white loathing to keep it up.

At some point we need to let this race dividing narrative die.

I think affirmative action made sense in 1970. It makes a lot less sense in 2025. There are a lot of people who are multiracial, who are immigrants, or who don't fit into the white-vs-black categorizations of the Civil Rights era. This sort of racial preference regime can really only work if it's addressing very recent discrimination and it's clear who it's meant to benefit. "Everyone who isn't white is a victim of oppression" just isn't true, and even if it were, it's a totally unworkable standard.

It wont die unless the underlying conditions that drive people to stand up for racial justice is given attention. Sorry but “just dont bring up race” is not what stops racism.

It has been given attention and it largely doesn't exist anymore. Leave it alone to die. I'm so ****ing sick of the race baiting.

Actually it does which is why we are out in the streets. You can continue to whine or help fix things. Your choice. Screaming about “race baiting” has never in the history of mankind ever solved anything

The fact that we still have asshats out in the street is not proof of anything.

I dunno i dont consider the people i work with to be asshats. In fact we were successful in running the klan out of our town to never return again despite the constant naysayers who have never done activism in their lives we were successful. There are still things left to be done. We have an extremely racist veep, a racist president, and a modern genocidal maniac in charge of immigration.

Just want are the underlying conditions? I think that's debatable. Cancel culture not only kept us from discussing it, but it biased the discussion in one direction.

Affirmative action asks employers not to consider race, sex, sexual preference, disability, or religion into consideration when hiring. How does that not make sense in 2025?

This is it. The propaganda that the right has had on full display of the so called "reverse discrimination" has finally come home to roost.
So whites can claim the throne of biggest ****ing victims ever.

Beliefs are a product of multibillion dollar industries these days.

So, beliefs carry no actual weight anymore.

That is precisely the opposite of what it does.

If that's what you mean, sure, let's do that.
Prove it. Show us the EO and the wording that does the opposite of seeking to kill discrimination. I even provided the link for you to reference.

Your link said nothing of the kind. But if all you mean by "affirmative action" is civil rights laws against discrimination, then I'm not interested in arguing semantics anyway. Like I said...let's do that.

The link says exactly that.
Affirmative action is defined as a set of procedures designed to eliminate unlawful discrimination among applicants, remedy the results of such prior discrimination, and prevent such discrimination in the future.
It was you who referenced AA, not me. I'm just asking why you believe trying to outlaw discrimination makes less sense in 2025.

Like I said, I'm on board with doing that, if that's how you want to define "affirmative action." Even though no one else defines it that way. It's unclear to me why you want to argue semantics or whether you even disagree with anything I wrote. Kinda sounds like you're arguing just to argue.

Progress is sometimes hard to measure; if people feel like they are less discriminated against, is it true?
Objectively? No.

That fewer Americans currently feel less strongly discriminated against doesn’t, at all, mean that efforts against discrimination in America have come a long way over the last 4 years.

Large majorities of minority groups continue to feel discriminated against.
