Hello.

I came across an article on this website that I go to. In it, it talks about the politics and true nature of anthropogenic climate change. I think it's an interesting read. I will provide an excerpt of the article below and see if I can get a discussion going.

The UN's climate agenda is focused on mankind’s use of “fossil fuels,” a false, politically expedient attribution because petroleum and natural gas are neither fossil in origin nor scarce. That misrepresentation fosters fear of impending global energy shortages, rising average world temperatures, extreme weather events, and flooding due to rising sea levels as the polar ice caps melt.

These created fears become justifications for massive taxation and investment in so-called “green” energy alternatives that are economically and environmentally unsound as substitutes for naturally occurring energy sources. The international Green Climate Fund (GCF, 2010) established under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC, 1992) is intended to finance “green” environmental initiatives in developing nations, but little if any success or accountability is reported because results are impossible to measure and verify. It is the same for domestic carbon taxation and spending. The GCF, “cap and trade” schemes, direct commercial carbon emission levies, and carbon taxation buried in the cost of consumer goods are deceptive socialist wealth transfer programs that concentrate wealth and control with governments and vested corporate interests. Ultimately, those interests must control governments and marginalize opposition. Control implies enforcement and surveillance to ensure compliance.

Formal meetings of the UNFCCC parties (UN climate summits) known as the Conference of the Parties (COP), began in 1995 (COP1) and have continued annually to assess the implementation progress of the Kyoto Protocol (1997), followed by the Paris Agreement (2015). Canada withdrew from Kyoto in 2011 under the Harper Government, but PM Trudeau signed the Paris Agreement in 2016. COP29 will meet in November 2024. Participating nations agreed to raise revenue and reduce CO2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The Canadian Net-Zero Emissions Accountability Act that became law on June 29, 2021, is Canada’s UN commitment to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

You can see the link to the rest of the article here: https://druthers.ca/politicized-climate-change-as-wealth-redistribution/

If the link doesn't work, go to Druthers.ca, then go to Read at the top. Select By Subject, then select Editorial on the right. Navigate to about the 5th page, and you will see an article titled "Politicized Climate Change as Wealth Redistribution".

It's tough to get a conversation going starting with Druthers.

Extreme right bias, low factual rating, it's kind of the worst of the worst.

.
Real load of shit being talked there apparently.

because petroleum and natural gas are neither fossil in origin nor scarce.
Petroleum, also called crude oil, is a fossil fuel. Like coal and natural gas, petroleum was formed from the remains of ancient marine organisms, such as plants, algae, and bacteria.
However, petroleum, like coal and natural gas, is a nonrenewable source of energy. It took millions of years for it to form, and when it is extracted and consumed, there is no way for us to replace it. Oil supplies will run out. Eventually, the world will reach “peak oil,” or its highest production level.

An extreme source with a low factual reporting score.

According to the U.K.'s venerable Royal Society and the distinguished U.S. Academy of the Sciences 2020 report:

From the Summary, Page 2: "Much of this warming has occurred in the last five decades. Detailed analyses have shown that the warming during this period is mainly a result of the increased concentrations of CO2 and other greenhouse gases. Continued emissions of these gases will cause further climate change, including substantial increases in global average surface temperature and important changes in regional climate. The magnitude and timing of these changes will depend on many factors, and slowdowns and accelerations in warming lasting a decade or more will continue to occur. However, long-term climate change over many decades will depend mainly on the total amount of CO2 and other greenhouse gases emitted as a result of human activities."

Page 6: The CO2 level in 2019 was more than 40% higher than it was in the 19th century. Most of this CO2 increase has taken place since 1970, about the time when global energy consumption accelerated. Measured decreases in the fraction of other forms of carbon (the isotopes 14C and 13C) and a small decrease in atmospheric oxygen concentration (observations of which have been available since 1990) show that the rise in CO2 is largely from combustion of fossil fuels (which have low 13C fractions and no 14C). Deforestation and other land use changes have also released carbon from the biosphere (living world) where it normally resides for decades to centuries.

Conclusion, Page 23: This document explains that there are well-understood physical mechanisms by which changes in the amounts of greenhouse gases cause climate changes. It discusses the evidence that the concentrations of these gases in the atmosphere have increased and are still increasing rapidly, that climate change is occurring, and that most of the recent change is almost certainly due to emissions of greenhouse gases caused by human activities.

How old are you? Do you have children?

I would rather go to hell than giving a ruined planet to our children. May be you think "I´m long gone than"

I get really tired of people not wanting to give up a yota of their luxury and therefore seeking for bullshit lies on the internet to level their bad consious...

edit: in my dream world there wount be a minimum age for politicians, there would be a maximum age. 40 or so. People who decide for their own future and not for the future of others.
