Safe spaces, tearing down statues, removal of Confederate symbols, shutting down speakers that certain people don’t agree with, everybody gets a trophy, fat acceptance (such as in industries like modeling, “cultural appropriation”, everything is offensive. Geez these so-called SJWs need to get a life. It’s a shame Hollywood will probably not produce TV shows like “All in the Family” and “Married.... With Children” anymore. Heck, the Frito Bandito was even before my time, but I think we should bring him back to stand up to these ******s.

The biggest ******s in the world are the ones that have a emotional breakdown because some guy knelt to one knee when a patriotic song was played at a sports event. Talk about your political correctness gone amok. Then there are the guys all outraged that someone said "happy Holidays' instead of Merry Christmas and declared that as the basis for a 'war on Christmas.

Heck what about the guys insisted that the pledge of allegiance be said with the words 'Under God' and that kids fold their hands in prayer at the beginning of classes because this 'God dude, ' well he just cannot compete anymore unless he is mentioned every single day by 12 year olds.

Then there are the folks that made this huuuge deal about Obama and a flag pin. Or the ones that thought the social structure of judeo-christian culture, would be destroyed if two women got a marriage license.


Yeah I think you are right about the pc police. What a bunch of wussies and pansies the Right Wingers have become.

well, there are definitely a lot of people who got duped by a ***** grabbing game show host with a room temp IQ. it's definitely an argument for better access to higher education.

So funny when right-wing nuts bitch about "PC culture". I travel all over the nation for work, meet people from many different backgrounds and I can't remember once having to watch my words or being worried about offending anyone - ever.

I think right-wing nuts just enjoy being bigoted dicks and whine when they're called on their hate speech.

It's so easy not to be a dick - for me and most other people, it just makes me smile and shake my head when I see this whiny, anti-PC victimhood.

I have no problem with someone saying to me "Happy Holidays". What bothers me is that you impose on me that I can't say "Merry Christmas".
 

I have said a couple times on these boards we should privatize marriage. I think the government should get out of marriage completely. Have a marriage license be in the form of a business certificate, or church certificate, or wherever you worship. If someone doesn't agree with gay "marriage", they can go get a marriage certificate at a church or business that doesn't offer such. And to those that do agree with it, can go there if they please.

Nobody is asking you to agree with gay marriage, just as people weren't required to support hetero marriage or interracial marriage. Those couples aren't asking for your approval and they really dont care of you do. Marriage is a secular civil contract between 2 people and the state and it cannot be privatized because there are many rights and monetary benefits involved so the state must be part of it to record and administer it. What individual churches do is not marriage but instead of religious matrimony and the state plays no function in that. You dont have the right to be married in a church, even if you are white, heterosexuals and member of the church.

Why not? we have the Simpsons, Saturday Night Live and other shows that examine racism, bigotry and other social issues. It is all about how the issue in question is presented.

For example, years ago Target told their employees that they could no longer say "Merry Christmas". There are many other businesses that have done the same thing. Even if someone doesn't celebrate Christmas, it's meant for that person to have a good time of that part of the year. I know someone that doesn't celebrate Halloween, and thinks it's too demonic, but when I tell him "Happy Halloween" he knows for him I mean that time of year. Even Orthodox Jews like Dennis Prager and Ben Shapiro aren't offended by "Merry Christmas" and I know that Prager actually prefers that saying over the other. I'm not sure if Shapiro prefers it himself as well but I know he's not offended. I'm Christian and I wouldn't be offended if someone told me "Happy Hanukkah". I'm a previous atheist and still didn't mind "Merry Christmas" back then.

I watch The Simpsons (never really tuned to SNL) and they've really gone to PC lately, even as far as removing the character Apu.

No it wouldn’t. It was a satire.

It the larger point has already been made by posters. There is PC culture on both left and right. Been that way for decades. It was un-PC to oppose the Vietnam War, now it’s UN-PC to have supported it.
