Pierre seems to have decided to double down on his embrace of mini-MAGA style politics, an awkward association that surely contributed to the most stunning election reversal of fortune in Canadian history.

He is the poster child for an innate inability to read the room.

Several Conservative MPs and leader Pierre Poilievre are criticizing the Crown's approach to prosecuting two key organizers of the Freedom Convoy protests, with the party's deputy leader calling it an act of "political vengeance."

Tamara Lich and Chris Barber were convicted of mischief in April for their roles in organizing the demonstration, which blockaded streets around Parliament Hill in Ottawa for more than three weeks in early 2022.

Barber was also convicted of counseling others to disobey a court order.

Those dumb asses should get serious time. They were pissed off that they couldn't cross the American border unvaccinated so they blockaded Ottawa?
For weeks transit vehicles couldn't get through, emergency vehicles couldn't get through, elderly lives disrupted and endangered, they sounded their air horns at random intervals through the night!
Screw them and screw Poilievre. How long does that asshole think the government should have tolerated that anti-social idiocy?

Poilievre is just putting his pampered life on full display. Those organizers were calling for the overthrow of the government and in a society valuing individual responsibility, these idiots should bite a salt sandwich. Poilievre is banking way too heavily on the ‘angry Albertan’ factor carrying him forward. It is my hope the judicial system treats those two appropriately and leaves them with the welts their daddies should have.
