*Philippines Need More Immigrants to USA*

Lets ask,

1. If it is decided that all these Mexicans and folks from south of our border get amnesty, and allow them on the fast track to becoming Americans, The People of the Philippines need no less than 5 million Visa's awarded to whom ever wants to come to America, and seek the American Dream.
2. This favoritism of our brothers to the south isn't fair, People of the Philippines want to come here, and I'm sure if our border was opened up to them 30 million would come right away.
3. The People of the Philippines are a much better work force, more loyal, and speak English, these facts play into why they should be given a green light to come in my opinion.
4. Our ties to The Philippines are much closer than will ever be of Mexico or any other nation south of the border will ever be.
5. Unless we support those most friendly Nations, who are loyal, this amnesty deal is a shame, and a insult to our best of allies.
6. When 911 happened, Mexico was so very quite. It was deafening.
7. To allow all these illegals a free pass on immigration, is in effect legalizing all illegal immigration.
8. Why play by the rules when it takes so much time and money?
9. Just get here, hide out, find a under the table job, and await for amnesty.
10. Crime does pay, just get here, and stay long enough, then get a fast track for citizenship.

Are these the same Mexicans who were shouting "Osama, Osama" at an U-23 match with the U.S. a couple of year back? And our politicians want to do them FAVORS?!?!?! Who messed up is that?

Philippinos would be FAR better to have in large numbers than Mexicans like that!
 
One of the main advantages of the Filipinos are: they are well educated. Not all of them but most of them are.
 
Loathe as I am to contribute to a post by chesswarsnow this topic has caught my eye. Humour me I don't know a much about the Phillipines or their relationship with the US. What's the score with them at the moment? Is there some political instability out there, problems with the government? How do they feel about their relationship with America, are they eager to be allies, or do they just want US trade dollars and to keep Washington out of their affairs?
 

I totally agree with everything said here.
Arleta in San Fernando Valley pretty much resembles a Mexico. You go into the Philippino part of San Fernando and it's magically better than any other area in this "City". Filippinos also understand the threat of Radical Islam, as they too are victims and have had to fight against them in defense.

One of the cruelest things about the whole anti-immigrant offensive has been the ways in which the system and its mouthpieces have worked to turn other sections of the working class and oppressed people against the immigrants. The ruling class is all too happy to see its words and thinking coming out of the mouths of the oppressed.

“They’re taking our jobs.” Our jobs? We don’t own any jobs. In fact, we don’t own anything more than our ability to work and the chance to sell that to some capitalist. Operations shut down and leave overnight, going south or going overseas, and you don’t have a damn thing to say about it--at least anything that makes any difference. You can either try to fight with other people in the same position, or you can fight the system that sets things up that way--but in either case, there’s no such thing as “our jobs.”

“They’re not following the laws.” Sure they’re not--because the “laws” are set up to keep them in an oppressed and super-exploited position! Should people have obeyed Jim Crow laws? NO! Today many people say they agree with that--but “back in the day,” Black people who defied Jim Crow were told by the white power structure and media -- and the Uncle Toms too -- that they were “going about it in the wrong way.” They were told to play by the rules, when the rules were rigged to exploit and oppress them. They refused to, and that was righteous. The oppressed always have to defy the law to win their freedom. When have they ever not had to do so?

“This is not the new civil rights movement.” Since when did civil rights and liberation become copyrighted brand names? Since when did the blood that people gave in struggle become something that someone owns? Since when did the inspiration and lessons that people draw from different struggles all over the world become the private property of one group or another? This is shameful and deserves no further comment.]0

“The ‘illegals’ get special treatment.” Yeah, real special. They are driven off their farms by U.S. capitalist agribusiness; they go through terrible suffering--and often die--in the desert trying to get here; they are forced into terrible jobs; they are robbed of their wages by bosses; they are abused and preyed upon because of their illegal status; and then they are put into prison-like detention centers when they are caught. Do you really want this kind of “special treatment?”

“They won’t learn English.” Even if this were true, so what? This society has white supremacy bred into its marrow. Because of that oppressed people have to fight to maintain their own cultures, customs, languages and so on. This was a big point of the Black liberation struggle in the '60s, as well as the struggles of Native American, Chicano and other oppressed peoples, and it is still valid. How is English Only any different than White Only??

These kinds of opinions--and we won’t even try to list all of them--really boil down to one slave blaming another for the conditions of their slavery...instead of fighting together to resist and overturn the system of slavery itself.
 

I'm sorry. Are you comparing laws being used to oppress our own citizens(Jim Crow Laws) to laws used to protect our economy and the legal citizens of this country?


The civil rights movement was created to protect the fundamental rights of the legal citizens in this country that were being oppressed.


I'm sorry. Would you go to another country and try and change the rules of that country to better fit the agenda of an illegal population in that country?

Comparing race and legality issues is lowest you can sink on this issue. It's not about race. It's about you trying to come into my country illegally and then expecting **** you're not entitled to.

these so called "illegal human being scum", are actually extremely useful to the American economy. It is on the cheap labor of immigrants that people's houses are cleaned, their food is grown, their sidewalks cleaned. Immigrants pay far, far more in taxes and produce far more than they'll ever take in from social welfare benefits.

The arguements being used in both case are fundamentally the same. The laws are to oppress the working class and masses and to divide the working class and the masses. Your interests and mine, Hatuey, are not to bash and attack immigrants, our interests are to unite with all workers and people seeking a better life, and then to use this large working force to win what we deserve.

I find it disturbingly sick that you value "American blood" more than the blood of foreigners. Are they some kind of subhumans? Are they lesser beings? Is it because in large part they are non-whites, Hatuey? The KKK seem to think so, and that's why they have seen a gigantic jump in membership over the past to years.

demanding rights for the overwhelming aid to the economy immigrants are responsible for is justified. They are human to and they live and work and pay taxes like everyone else so why should they be considered lesser humans just because they had to cross the border immediatly because their family was starving and their children were dying.

Like I said, the KKK has seen a big *** jump in membership and a re-emergence in other parts. While I agree this isn't completly a race thing. The KKK is on your side Hatuey. They love what your fighting for and will stand by you through think and thin Hatuey. Also, you seem to have missed the point. These laws are fundamentally wrong because they subject humans beings to the treatment of animals. This is the case in both cases and it is why this is the new civil rights movement.

Would I go to another country and break their laws and demand **** I'm not entitled to? Would I demand that the American flag be flown from non-American schools in a foreign land? You're barking up the wrong tree. I enjoy exploiting the people working for me and I enjoy being exploited by the people I work for. I've realized it's how the world works. Making all men equal and giving the same amount to everyone is not what I signed up for. I work hard because I know in the end I'll benefit from the fact that I am good at what I do. If somebody else is as good as I am and doesn't have the same success I do. Tough cookies. The world ain't fair. Never has been. Communism, Leninism and Socialism to me are all nothing more then failures. On average most countries that go towards anything even remotely close to these routes always end up returning to good old capitalism.


No, I value people who have legal permission to live in a country more then I value those that enter it illegally. Big difference mon ami. It doesn't matter whether they're black, Indian, Jewish, Polish, French or Mexican. All I want for them to do is to enter the country legally and apply for citizenship in the same manner most naturalized citizens in this country have done. It's not hard.


I already said it once. I don't consider them lesser beings because they're foreigners. I don't consider them lesser beings period. My issue is with the fact that they demand all these rights while braking American laws. They're criminals not because of who they are but because of what they've done. Does this clear it up?

It's not a race issue period. It's an issue of the legal status of some people in this country and their silly belief they have that they can demand citizenship without having earned it.


The KKK is an opportunist organization. I don't worry about them too much but thanks for asking.

There should never be a favoritism policy in immigration. If one race is preferred over the other, then the foundation of this country had been violated. It has been for decades, but it has to stop somewhere/sometime.

About the philippines, if you look into that particular country, it has lots of natural resources and plenty of opportunities for workers with education. Most of the technical jobs are being outsourced away from america into India then into the Philippines. The call centers are going through the philippines.

Something to remember is lots of organized crime uses the legal immigration to use it as a path for slave labor into their partners in the US. There is never a guarantee on who would enter into the country and providing a vehicle to preferential treat a foreign country will be unfair.
 


People who are aware on how governments work already know that intention is to make people feel that they need their leadership. We also need to understand that war are started because people claim they know what is a better way of life.

One item to look at before immigration flood gates are open again is to see if the country can support more work force than what it needs. It sounds unfair to people trying to get the american dream and hypocritical to the old american quote "give me your tired, your poor.." by Emma Lazarus, but if the country is not ready for more immigrants it is just a disaster to happen. You need a stronger foundation, otherwise the welfare system, which never worked, would extract more money from hard working tax payers who are at the end of their ropes and it might lead to civil unrest.

One item about the Philippines, is there is at least a billion dollars of stolen money that the previous dictator had hidden through his family and friends. From the news I have seem on PBS, the people are still embracing the same people who had been hiding the money, they are even making them politicians. They can solve their own economic problem by getting educated on how their government really operates. Economically speaking, the people of the Philippines can solve their problem.
