Pete Hegseth demanding NATO spends 5% of GDP on defence.

Damn...is everyone in this forum ignorant?

Trump called for NATO countries to increase their defense spending to 5% of their GDP back before he was inaugurated. Hegseth talking about it now isn't anything new.

Furthermore, most NATO leaders are in agreement with the idea.

sigh...

I guess this is a perfect example what TDS does to people.

When will the US hit 5% ?

The US doesn't have the power to demand other democratic nations spend any of their own money on anything.

This new spending bill probably puts them over the top ! However, the amount America spends on defense has squat to do with NATO. They just like to mouth off that they are carrying the weight.

I wonder how they allow for places like Turkey.Turkey houses the laargest immigrant population in the world. They host all the debris from Americas wars. That should count in defence spending.
Much of Europe is the same.
