So I am trying to sell my portable air conditioner because I am moving into an apartment with central AC and heating (so excited to control my own temperature). Everytime I mention to someone interested it needs to be vented out the window (with the included hose and window thing) they are not interested anymore. Like where do they expect the heat to go? Do they think window mounted ones are in the window just cause?

Tell them that it also comes with the new type of Free Electricity Unit: Hook the motor to the generator, run the output back to the motor and Shazam..free power!
OR Tell them it's a new type of Quantum Cloud Heater.

Just tell them the wind exhaust hose is only for cooling mode, that it makes a fine dehumidifier without the exhaust hose!

The kind of morons you can find on local classifieds is astounding. Once a guy showed up to pick up a 32" CRT. My ad had a picture of the tv, like this big one:

I asked if he needed help loading it up, he said "No it's fine I rode the bus." The nearest bus stop was about a mile and a half away. I loaded him and it into my car and drove him to the bus stop. No idea if he ever made it on the bus with the TV. There were many more like that.

I had no trouble getting rid of my stand-up portable roll around A/C unit on Craigslist, but I don't know if Craigslist is a popular thing in your part of the world.
Back when we first moved back to SoCal, my edit bay was in the detached garage and the rolling portable A/C kept that space under 78 degrees.
I vented the unit to the garage attic through the tiny access door, but later I drilled a hole in the garage (with the landlord's permission) that resembled a dryer outlet and that worked better, got the garage down to 72 easily. You can see a tiny bit of it here behind my friend Howard's head.

Tell them what they are describing is called a "swamp cooler", and they don't work as well as air conditioners. Every a/c unit has to have an exhaust. There's a lot of dimwits around.

That’s the ticket explaining that this is version two of the item they are searching for

Ah yes. I remember swamp coolers from my Arizona days.

Better than nothing, but definitely not AC.
