No high crimes and misdemeanors. Will the left listen to her or not? Or, are they going to continue banging the impeachment drums just because they don't like Trump, even when their own leader admits there are no high crimes and misdemeanors?

Really bad move on the part of Pelosi. If not Trump and now - then who and when? Just because the GOP ran out the clock for the first two years and now we face and election next year is no excuse NOT to exercise your constitutional duties.

Pelosi is right. The Dems must focus on beating Trump in 2020, by presenting actual proposals, and a good, viable candidate that will also appeal to moderates and independents. Impeaching Trump is a pipe dream; even if it happened, there would be no conviction in the Senate so it's a huge waste of time and political capital.
 

No, that's not what she 'admitted'.

She said impeachment can go forward if it's based on (A) compelling evidence, (B) overwhelming evidence, and (C) bipartisan support.

I bet Pelosi will pay a big price for saying this truth. The Resist folks will be pissed to the extreme! They will probably swarm her at a restaurant or at home.
 
Besides, I'm not convinced that Pence is any better than Trump.
Impeaching Trump would be, yes, divisive, and two, futile - because it does absolutely nothing without the Senate being on board by two thirds, which is never going to happen.

"He's not worth it" is what you say when you've got nothing and know you can't win.
I don't know if Dems would win if they went down the road of impeachment. Maybe they would. Probably they wouldn't.

What I think Pelosi's trying to do is publicly pressure her own party to not "go there". I don't think Pelosi has control. I don't think she's got juice. I don't know if what she thinks even matters. So I take her dismissal with a grain of salt.

Bingo! For those of us who are astute, this means Pelosi got wind of no collusion. I was waiting for the canary in the coal mine. This means Muellers report will be out soon and the dems need to explain their false claim to the American public. The smart ones should immediately begin back pedaling. Pelosi appears to sense CO in the mine.

The only error in Pelosi's thinking is that "something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan" exists that could convince Senate Republicans to agree to remove Trump from office.

Pelosi's thinking seems clear: an impeachment process is an enormous drain on other resources and efforts, and would fail in the Senate anyway resulting in a feeling of defeat for the Left. So, per her thinking, what's the point?
 

Pelosi looked at the facts and realized there are no high crimes and misdemeanors. Impeaching a president for purely partisan reasons is not what the US is about. Why can't you just admit that there are no high crimes and misdemeanors?
