patron saints

I would have to say St. Christopher first then St. Columbanus second; goes back to my days of living on the back end of a Harley motorcycle- never left home without my guadian angel and cross pendant either.....

A fun fact: Jesus, for one, never spoke of saints.

if you are Catholic, you may know your patron saint

do you know?

Mine not so much a Saint. My parents, of blessed memory, had Michael the Archangel in mind after I finally emerged into this world of lights and noises, after months in an aquatic world of bliss and comfort.

St Christopher has to be number 1 in popularity. I cannot recall any that is even a close second

Does it hurt that "St. Christopher" is merely legend? He never was.

True!

Even though he did not exist. 🙂😎

That's the beauty about my personal Catholicism. Its a simple one that doesn't fix things that are not broken. 🤩🤠 St Christopher works for me just fine as it is. I never expected him to appear at the scene when I had flat tires anywas. Yet I still like him hanging there with me as I drive.

Plus, I am the kind of person who will say "If you take away all my Saints what are you going to replace them with?". I despise a vacuum. Atheism to me is a vacuum. It's not for me.

St George is having a revival in England at the moment courtesy of the anti-immigrant mobs painting and hanging his flag all over the place. Few of them will realise he's of Turkish origin spent some time in Palestine, and I think he's also patron saint of Syria, Portugal, archers. He's also supposedly good for plague and venereal diseases!

If I have one, I suppose it would be St Andrew, shared between Scotland, Greece, and Russia. He was the guy who thought a few loaves and fishes would feed thousands. You can see why we Scots are attracted to him!

Yes, yes, I have been reading of that revival:) As is expected of humans, give a handshake and a leg is demanded. The enthusiasm for St George was so massive it spilt into vandalism. To the point where St George champion Farrage is calling for restraint and moderation :)
