"Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God," she said. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan."
A video of the speech was posted at the Wasilla Assembly of God's Web site before finding its way on to other sites on the Internet.
Palin told graduating students of the church's School of Ministry, "What I need to do is strike a deal with you guys." As they preached the love of Jesus throughout Alaska, she said, she'd work to implement God's will from the governor's office, including creating jobs by building a pipeline to bring North Slope natural gas to North American markets.
"God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said.
"I can do my job there in developing our natural resources and doing things like getting the roads paved and making sure our troopers have their cop cars and their uniforms and their guns, and making sure our public schools are funded," she added. "But really all of that stuff doesn't do any good if the people of Alaska's heart isn't right with God."
Palin attended the evangelical church from the time she was a teenager until 2002, the church said in a statement posted on its Web site. She has continued to attend special conferences and meetings there. Religious conservatives have welcomed her selection as John McCain's running mat
so she should be restricted from putting her beliefs into her politics?
what do you reccommend? jail? firing squad?
Catapult.
But in all honesty, I don't think i can trust one with my military who thinks that wars can possible be commandments from gods. I think that's a rather dangerous proposition.

i think you don't get the metaphor....
it is just another way of saying we are in the right.
why isn't obama's religion an issue?
Which religion? His muslim roots or his preacher stories? It seems that Obama's religion HAS been an issue.
Yes, she's speaking for god. In my opinion, it's nuttier than a Snickers bar and only half as good. I don't like any politician claiming that they're on a mission from god. Leave that up to these two:
"We're on a mission from God."
so she should be restricted from putting her beliefs into her politics?

Copy cat! :rofl
Great minds must think alike, hey? :2wave:
No, but she should refrain from promoting her religion from her position as a government employee. Sounds simple enough, don't you think?

Thanks Hautey! This thread was amazingly and useful instead of the two threads with multiple replies already. I'm sure its much easier to just attack again, in another thread in a different section, than actually have to deal with the counter points and points of spin that have already been shown in those threads.
Looking at your spamming of threads, many of which are already being talked about, I must ask...are you looking to get ordained?
why isn't obama's religion an issue?
so she should lie and hide her beliefs to pander to people who not vote for her anyway?
interesting take.
Don't be silly, America has never gone to war for that reason alone. How else would we get the Democrat vote?Catapult.

When did Palin claim it would? Not that I care what somebody really preaches at their church but I have no doubt that the modern day crusade to put religion in everything from our classrooms to the science labs will not 'change' with Sarah Palin.
What section is this thread in? :S
