"Outsiders" publicity photo: Patrick Swayze standing on bricks to appear taller than the rest!
I found out about this from a recent Joe Rogan podcast clip, where Joe is talking to Rob Lowe, who had some interesting comments about Patrick Swayze. That included this publicity photo from "The Outsiders" movie, where Swayze supposedly insisted upon standing on 2 stacked bricks, so he'd look taller, despite the fact that he's 5'10", which isnt particularly short!
Looking at the photo, he is standing on a sunken area of a gravel and dirt roadway, which wouldve made him look a few inches shorter if he had stood there without the bricks. But a few of the other actors in the photo are standing in sunken areas WITHOUT bricks! Besides, if it was such a problem, the photographers COULD'VE simply had the group stand in another spot, maybe just a few feet to the left!
