It's a shame people in high places like Trump, and Vance do not have the confidence in their fellow Americans to put a stop to so much terror and violence in this country. I have faith that Kamala will address this, and that my representatives will put forth the effort to get shit done!

I will vote dem all the way down the ticket this time in hopes they'll actually take these types of challenges on since the right doesn't seem to have a clue and are too busy licking base balls to actually address dead children!

Well, J.D. you can either take the defeatist approach of "deal with it" or try and do something about it. Since you and your lot seem more interested in dealing with it as a fact of life then perhaps supporting a law that has the government provide the public with kevlar jackets and helmets is a start.
 
The funny thing is, the GOP will go balls to the wall to protect trans students from entering the ‘wrong’ bathroom at a school and demand laws be passed at every level, but with school shootkngs using assault rifles, they throw they’re hands up and just say it’s ’a fact of life’.

Hey how did they prepare Vance, Trump, Harris and Walz for people that are going to go after them?

They have bulletproof barriers and security personnel armed to the teeth. Until recently they were even competent enough to stop shooters.

The point is the shooters go after the schools because they are unprepared, unarmed and won't be stopped in any fashion.

There's a reason the shooters aren't trying to go shoot up a police station or military base in general.

We have to 'just live' with drug abuse, homeless problem, black gang violence, unrestrained border crossings, graffiti and vandalism, drivers under the influence, etc. Just add this to that list.

So you are all for law enforcement to swoop in and seize your guns on a hunch? Here's a hint: It's the parents who are entitled assholes that think letting their son take their gun is protected by the 2nd amendment. No worries right? Just try the 14 year old as an adult and the parents go scott free. This must not continue.
 
JD Vance should have said - School shootings are a fact of life, and will remain so for as long as the NRA keep contributing to Republican campaign funding.

But it wasn’t a hunch the kid straight up said he was going to commit a school shooting and then did it. Doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to crack that case.

Yes I did miss that and they are throwing the book at him too. Maybe we are getting somewhere. I bet a bunch of parents will be buying gun safes tomorrow and there will be one less Trump voter. It's a win win.

I think that's a bit of a stretch, but I do see where you're coming from. However, I think those two ideas are not logically connected in his head since the arguments he gives for one is entirely different from the other. At face value at least, "Having kids brings women joy and prevents them from becoming cat ladies" does not equal "needing to replace children who are killed at school by other children."

I do see why the two ideas would be linked though, just not necessarily in Vance's head.
 
Unfortunately, Mr Vance IS correct. School shootings ARE a "fact of life" and they are going to remain a "fact of life" until the entire attitude of the United States of America is weaned from the concept that the BEST solution to any conflict is violence.
 

What makes you really think he believes or cares if having kids makes women happy? Religious and right-leaning individuals believe in reproducing more kids in order to have more people to live and breed and expand their agendas. The Duggar family is a member of one such group and their intent is to get their family members into positions of power in the govt in order to promote their fundie Christian far-right lifestyle. They already have placed a couple of young people as interns to Congress people. There's a documentary on the Duggars that goes into all this.

Because that argument has been a conservative calling card and an argument against abortion since Roe was first passed. And both parties have groupthink on certain issues, and this is one of them for Republicans.

While this may be one of their beliefs, the biggest root cause of the belief in procreation comes from the Bible. And again, we're talking "rank-and-file" Republicans and religious folk, not politicians.
Okay, so I looked up the Duggar family, and found the "19 kids and counting" show. Is this the Duggar family you are referring to? If so, I don't think they're smart enough to pull it off. Not saying they don't have an intent to do what you said (that is beyond my pay grade), but from what I know of what that show was like … yeah, that specific family does not have the brains to pull it off.
